What a year!

by Christine - From Dates to Diapers on December 31, 2008

2008 has been quite the ride…

JANUARY

*Julia broke her leg and many looong days followed.
*I decided to get organized and did a pretty good job…. for a while.
*My Mom of the Week feature became a big hit, and
some friends and I had a great discussion on the benefits of breastfeeding.

FEBRUARY

*Miss Julia got rid of her cast and tons of her hair!
*I answered the question, “How do you manage to make older siblings feel included and loved when you welcome a new one so close in age?”
*I also talked about potty training and what has worked for us.
*Yahoo! locked me out of my email account. They let me back in, but it was too late… Gmail is so much better!

MARCH

*Kristin, Amanda, Shanda, and I launched Mommies United and hosted a HUGE mega-launch party at our new place.
*We successfully defended our freedom to homeschool, here in California. We prayed hard and the Lord answered our prayers!
*I was invited to Camp Baby in New Jersey – My first Bloggy Event
*My hubby bought me my very first laptop!

APRIL

*I was away for not one, or even two, but THREE days for Camp Baby…. I met a bunch of great people and had a fabulous time!
*Our family was invited to be featured on the Morning Show with Mike and Juliette, so off to New York we wentWhat an experience!
*Just another vocal Mommy Blogger

MAY

*Melanie Seasons shared tips on how to get your blog to be noticed by PR peeps.
*I became addicted to Twitter.
*From Dates to Diapers had a makeover.
*My Mother’s Day Gift Guide – and I – were featured on Good Day Sacramento!
*Everyone wanted to know how I shop with 6 kiddos.

JUNE

*Next came the crazy Costco trip, aka “the boy in the box video.”
*”Homeschooling Mother of Six Achieves Blog Success” Who? Me!
*And, we lost Ben (this was only the first time… I have yet to blog about the last time!)
*But, I got to chat with Janet Evans!

JULY

*Am I a bad mom? My kiddos don’t think so.
*Just one of those days.
*I touched the topic of immunizations…. You can’t call me a parasite and get away with it!
*BlogHer was in San Fransisco and I was there.
*I confess… I’m a Wii junkie.

AUGUST

*I became a little nostalgic, remembering my first kiss and looking forward to unhurried days.
*Julia started a blog of her very own.
*Walmart chose me as their 12th ElevenMom!
*We started another year of schooling at home.

SEPTEMBER

*I set up a YouTube channel and became an official Vlogger.
*Just remember – the days may be long, but the years are short.
*Another camera crew invaded our space for another episode of Good Day Sacramento!
*We headed off for a week-long vacation in San Diego

OCTOBER

*Bentonville, the home of Walmart, is where most of the Walmart ElevenMoms all got to meet.
*Do you eat breakfast? I created a breakfast challenge to motivate myself and others to eat an egg each morning, and discovered just how valuable eating a good breakfast is.
*Practical tips for shopping with your kiddos.

NOVEMBER

*Chatted about grocery shopping again, but this time specifically about staying within a budget.
*Rachel fell and scared us all to death.
*The secret shampoo was revealed.
*Rachel expressed her thankfulness for warm thoughts and prayers.

DECEMBER

*I finally posted about our LegoLand and San Diego Zoo adventures.
*Disney treated us to a weekend in the magic kindgom that is Disneyland.
*You can now catch me (along with Monica of Mommy Brain Reports) on BlogTalkRadio every Tuesday morning.
*We had a wonderful Christmas season!

I look forward to all that comes our way in 2009… the things we’ll do, the places we’ll go, the people we’ll meet, the memories we’ll make!

It looks like you had quite the year. :) I considered doing this sort of look back, but ended up not having the energy… Sigh… Maybe next year… :)

What a year it has been! Looking back I wouldn’t change a thing, and I’m so glad I made you as a friend in 08. Now lets see what 09 will bring. This should be fun!

Happy New Year!
