I was chatting with my sister today about the value of using coupons. She has been watching Extreme Couponing on TLC and, like most of us, is on a tight budget and would love to save even more on the necessities.
Most of us understand how much we can save when we use coupons, but sometimes it’s just a pain in the butt. For example, I’ve heard more times than I care to count how difficult it is to use coupons at Walmart.
BUT, that is changing, because Walmart’s coupon policy has changed!
Here’s what’s new ::
- They accept all manufacturer print at home internet coupons
- They accept competitor coupons that have a specified price on the specified item
- They accept check out coupons/Catalinas printed at our competitors’ registers for dollar/cents off on a specific item
- If a coupon value exceeds the price of the item, the excess may be given to the customer as cash or applied toward the basket purchase
The official policy can be found at walmartstores.com — All employees are being trained on these new policies, but it’;; be quite the process, so I highly recommend printing the policy out and carrying it with you for when you shop at Walmart.
I have been compensated by Walmart, as a Walmart Mom, for my time and efforts to create this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
