Walmart teams up with the ElevenMoms to Take Action

by Christine - From Dates to Diapers on October 15, 2008

Today is Blog Action Day. This year, bloggers all over the world are blogging against poverty. Each voice is making a difference. We are making a difference together.

Walmart has teamed up with the ElevenMoms and is matching, dollar for dollar, everything we raise as a group today. Most of the ElevenMoms have committed ourselves to give a minimum of $50, from ad revenue, to Project Peanut Butter, some a whole day’s worth. As someone who has a big heart for Africa, this is something about which I am very excited.

I’ve seen extreme poverty, firsthand, deep in the bush of Zambia, Africa. Poverty is very real. Poverty is heartbreaking. But, together we have the power to change it.

Will you help us fight against poverty? You can help by clicking on my affiliate links on my left sidebar, by visiting my sponsors and advertisers, or by donating directly through PayPal, below. Remember every dollar we raise today will be matched by Walmart! Please help me reach my goal of $50. Better yet, help me blow right passed it!

About Project Peanut Butter

“Project Peanut Butter is a therapeutic feeding program for malnourished children in Malawi and Sierra Leone, on the continent of Africa.

Project Peanut Butter’s factory and medical teams serve thousands of children each year in rural villages in Malawi and Sierra Leone, transporting life-saving RUTF, doctors and nurses to remote locations at two week intervals until recovery occurs. Project Peanut Butter trains local health service workers to assess pediatric malnutrition levels, encourage local participation and assist teams of medical professionals on site visits. PPB also supports the efforts of UNICEF, Médecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders), the William Jefferson Clinton Foundation and numerous other relief organizations by making RUTF available at cost for provision to thousands of additional severely malnourished children on the African continent.

Project Peanut Butter is committed to the eradication of severe childhood malnutrition in the developing world, and welcomes the partnership and support of like-minded individuals and organizations in our endeavor to provide urgently needed, life-saving treatment to severely malnourished children in Africa.”
