Then She Found Me

by Christine - From Dates to Diapers on October 20, 2008

Photobucket

PhotobucketThen She Found Me is a story that follows Alice Epner (Hunt), an almost 40 year-old New York school teacher. Alice’s life couldn’t get any more challenging – Her biological clock is ticking, but she is abandoned by her very immature husband (Broderick). Shortly after her adopted mother’s death, her quirky birth mother (Midler) unexpectedly reenters her life. However, after meeting the divorced father of one of her students, her life opens up in ways she had never imagined.

I would certainly not recommended this movie for children, but this tale is funny, thought-provoking, and all around entertaining.

I just saw Fireproof yesterday and it is my new fave movie. It is definitely a couple movie. If you go and see it you have to have your husband with you. It really makes you think about how you treat each other.

Fireproof sounds good — looking forward to seeing it.

Thanks for the entry,

Two of my favorite movies are The Notebook (even though the book is way better) and Titanic. Yes, I’m a major romantic, and I can relate a little bit to the theme of this movie. I was a school teacher until an accident left me disabled with chronic pain, I’m getting close to 40 (I’ll be 39 in a month), and my biological clock is not just ticking but thundering…LOL!! Would love to see this movie.

Thanks so much!

My fave movie is one of the funniest ever – So, I Married an Axe murderer with Mike Myers. It is hilarious, not really a love story but I laugh and laugh! I used to show it to potential dates to see if they ‘got’ my humor – my hubby took the test and failed – so, I’m not sure how effective that technique was.

I don’t really have a favorite movie. I am pretty easy to entertain so I tend to enjoy many movies of all types. However, I particularly enjoy movies by Charlie Kaufman, as well as the Coen brothers.
I would really love to win Then She Found Me, because I love Elinor Lipman, the writer of the book. She writes such interesting and quirky novels, and I’d love to see this one on film.

There are so many great movies out there that I never had a favorite until I saw Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium. It didn’t get much attention, but that was a real shame. I loved the message, it was entertaining, well acted, had nice special effects and I think it will stand the test of time. It’s great for self-esteem and to teach children about the cycle of life and death.
Thank you for the chance to win Then She Found Me. It’s my kind of movie too.

I’m a sucker for good clean romances like While You Were Sleeping, Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. I also love the M Night movies. Those are excellent thrillers that are clean, yet really suspenseful!
