I was born nearly thirty-six autumns ago. Four little ones came after me, and I became a mini version of my mother. I never played with dolls, since I had real babies to help feed, dress, bathe and tickle. Of course, I wanted to play mommy and loved every minute of it. In fact, I begged to help and quickly became known as a “baby hog.” I began babysitting as soon as I was old enough, and my love for children grew. I met a handsome boy named Ray the summer after I graduated from high school and, in spite of the fact that he expressed he only wanted to have 2 children, we were married just after 3 years of being great friends. Nine months after we were married, we discovered that I was 9 weeks pregnant with twins. We went from dates to diapers very quickly! God blessed us with six babies in six years – and we thought we were done. Until… Timmy. We are now almost beyond the diapers – 7 babies’ worth – and look forward to the new adventures each day brings.
Second to family, writing has always been a love of mine. Most of the last seven years have been documented here in my corner of the interwebz. Where we’ve been, what we’ve done, the lessons we’ve learned. I have thrived on writing about our adventures. What could be better than the perfect coming together of loves?
