Jennifer Garner and Josh: One on One

by Christine - From Dates to Diapers on February 9, 2011

At the recent Frigidaire Cooking Academy event, Josh got a little one-on-one with Jennifer Garner.  They discussed his lost tooth, but there was a little misunderstanding…

Frigidaire Kids [good-for-you] Cooking Academy

by Christine - From Dates to Diapers on January 19, 2011

Frigidaire invited some of my kiddos and I to help kick-off the launch of their Kids Cooking Academy and we were so excited to accept their gracious invitation. So, off we went to Hollywood to join a fabulous group of bloggers and their kiddos for an afternoon with Jennifer Garner and Chef Sue Miliken, cooking up some yummy (and healthy), kid-friendly dishes.

One of the highlights of the event for me was meeting Jennifer Garner. She is so sweet and down to earth… I just loved chatting with her! My kids, on the other hand, didn’t even know who she was, so they really got in to the cooking. I thoroughly enjoyed watching them as they created some scrumptious dishes all on their own!

This hands on event sparked a love of cooking in my kiddos. They were sent home with their very own mixing bowls, and measuring spoons and cups, and will definitely be spending more time in the kitchen with me!

You and your kiddos can join the Kids Cooking Academy to get daily tips and great recipes (with how-to videos coming soon) to inspire your family to get cooking together. When you do, Frigidaire will donate $1 to Save the Children, and you will be entered for a chance to win a kid’s apron set and a brand new Frigidaire Gallery Double Oven Range, with more space for preparing healthy meals and snacks.

We’re off to Hollywood

by Christine - From Dates to Diapers on January 17, 2011

Ethan, Zach, Julia, Josh, Timmy and I have been on a little adventure.

We started out this afternoon -
hit traffic on the highway,
stood in line at the airport,
traversed through security (not an easy task with five kiddos),
waited for our plane,

traveled through the air,

ended the short plane ride just as the sun was setting,

hit more traffic on L.A. freeways,
and finally arrived at our destination, hungry and tired.

Boy, has it been a fun day!

Why the adventure? Well, Frigidaire and Jennifer Garner have teamed up to get families preparing – and enjoying – nutritious foods together. The Frigidaire Kids Cooking Academy is an online school that features daily tip, fun recipes and how-to videos hosted by family friendly chef Mary Sue Miliken and we were invited to attend a special blogger event to celebrate the launch.

I’m sure I’ll have much more to share tomorrow, but for now I must call it a night!

Shiny

by Christine - From Dates to Diapers on November 6, 2009

They’re red.

They’re shiny.

Watching the clothes spin ’round and ’round in them is mesmerizing.

My husband thinks I’m strange.,

But my children share my fascination.

In fact, I wish my husband was captivated by them, as we are. Then perhaps he, too, would throw in a load of clothes every once in a while and watch them spin, as we do.

Frigidaire Affinity Washer/Dryer

This is the first time I’ve ever had a front load washer and dryer. It’s also the first time I’ve ever had a high efficiency washer, saving water and energy. I will never own anything different. Love them!

With seven wash cycles on the washer, the clothes for our busy – and quite dirty – family of eight always come clean (with the help of our favorite cleaning products, of course) in the Frigidaire Affinity Washer. The Whitest Whites cycle and Deep Clean Sanitize cycle covers the whole gamut. And, if that wasn’t enough, the delay wash setting comes in quite handy…. I can throw dirty clothes in the washer before a weekend trip and they can be freshly cleaned just as we return!

Ooh, and did I mention my kids like to help do laundry now? Score!

Now if only I can find a shiny, red machine to fold and put all the clean clothes away…
.

I received the Frigidaire Affinity Washer and Dryer, as well as the entire line of Frigidaire Gallery appliances, due to my involvement in the Frigidaire Test Drive. You can read more about the program in the following posts:

An Extra Hour

October 29, 2009

Tweet This Sunday we turn our clocks back an hour. That means we actually gain an extra hour! How are you going to spend that hour? Instead of trying to get caught up on work or the laundry {sigh}, consider pledging to spend that hour as special time with your children. When you pledge, Frigidaire [...]

More Time

May 8, 2009

Tweet I was trying to figure out, as we near Mother’s Day, what one thing would make my life as a mom easier and I concluded that it had to be more time. How many of you can agree? With more time I could play and laugh with my kiddos more, I could enjoy all [...]
