I take the lists at the beginning of the summer and buy things individually as they go on sale, and just put them into the backpack as we go.

I love to shop all year round, looking for great deals on clearance items at stores like Walgreen’s, Wal-Mart and Target.

I think, when buying back to school supplies, it’s important to stick to the school’s list, but budget for each child to pick out one or two things that are just fun or pretty or whatever. That makes it more fun for them to participate in the shopping.
I follow both of you on twitter. My twitter id is teriblogs.
Tweeted it! ID is teriblogs.
shop all the sales. when it comes to clothes, don’t buy things that are printed with things that are just in at the moment – like jeans with printed designs. b/c in a few months, they will be out and your child won’t want to wear them. and make sure to buy mix and match items.mavans@scottsboro.org
As a mother of three with two in school, I look throughout the year for school supply deals and grab them then. Places we normally grab from are Wal-mart, K-mart, Target, or any office stores.
It’s always great to grab next years beginning school wear around the winter season because a lot of stores are marking down their prices on summer items to start stocking their stores for winter items. Since school is at the end of the summer with a couple months of still warm weather, instead of buying a big load of new items, grabbing the clearance items for the following year is a big saver.

I check clearance areas online and in stores. It stays warm in S.C. well into the fall.
My oldest just started Kindergarten a few days ago. I buy clothes when they are dirt cheap clearance in bigger sizes for my kids to grow into. My son had all new clothes to start school, and I didn’t have to go clothes shopping at all this month.
I volunteer at a local thrift store and get first pick and a huge discount on all the merchandise. People donate a lot more thatn just clothing.
I use thrift store and consignment shops to shop for clothing. I fill in the gaps with stuff like socks and shoes at Kmart(buy one get half off on shoes and socks) and hit Walmart,Target, Office Max and Staples for the rest of our stuff.
im a target girl myself! that’s where we got all our supplies.

Now that my daughter is in high school, I wait to get her supplies until after the first day of school. I may miss the sales, but at least I will be getting exactly what the teacher requires. I also find that most of the supplies have gone on clearance by then.
I’ve been stocking up on school supplies at cvs and staples for free !

Hi. I found you through Panasonic’s LIHD site. I stock up on “school” supplies for my house full of preschoolers at Walmart primarily. I know they would love to get their hands on this particular Crayola prize pack! Thanks for the chance!

By in bulk. Wait for sales. And reuse what you have like last year’s backpack or lunch box.
