Tomorrow we are heading to the pool… Finally! We’ve had such beautiful Spring-like weather here in Northern California, with only a few hot days, but we are so ready for the pool! The kids just want to be out side, so what better place than poolside?
As most of you know, I have one very light-skinned child. Yes, I’m talking about Blondie. He is the only one I have been afraid would burn out in the sun. I am so glad that I found Protect A Bub protective swimwear and sunhats for him. In addition to the thick coating of sunblock with which I lather him, I now can rest at ease knowing that he’s safe from the sun’s burning rays. Put a pair of My 1st Shades on him, and he’s good to go!
I must say, though, that the key to a safe and happy (especially afterwards) day in the sun is plenty of sunscreen, even for the little guys that don’t tend to burn. Protecting their skin (and yours) from the suns harmful rays with broad-spectrum UVA / UVB protection is not only a good idea, but the right products can also provide vitamins and minerals to your skin that help aid in preventing moisture loss.
For protection I can trust, I use the Aveeno line of Continuous Protection Suncare. The Aveeno Baby Sunblock Lotion is non-greasy, fragrance-free and as gentle as water… It’s a must-have for summer fun!
We use skin-care products long after exposure to the sun. My older kiddos like to lather Stuff for Sprouts Lip Stuff for Krispy Kissers all over their sun-kissed lips, whether we’ve been at the pool or the park. I even like to use this scrumptious balm on Ben’s cheeks, mostly because it makes him smell yummy enough to eat!
Stuff for Sprouts cream or lotion is also a soothing way to moisturize after a day in the sun. I love using these products mainly because they are made of natural oils and butters that are chosen specifically for their beneficial properties in healing and soothing dry, itchy skin.
Don’t forget your skin this summer as you’re playing in the sun, and long after!

In Texas summers are hot hot hot and we love to play at the pool when we get a chance. However the best place that we visit is Bounce Town an indoor moonwalk park. It is AC and allows my monk to burn off his extra energy while allowing me to work out with him. Plus its cheap hours of fun. We also hang out at the pool with friends and believe me we use alot of sun block. I am a very fair skin person and only know two shades white and red. My son tans very easy lucky for him he has is dads color. We still use a lot of sun block because cancer runs in the family.Plus I will do everything in my best power not to have to listen to him cry because he is sun burnt.
