Rub a Dub

by Christine - From Dates to Diapers on April 4, 2009

Bath-time is always a very fun time around here. My little guys can play in the tub for hours…literally. I finally drain the tub only after their fingers and toes have turned to “gator skin” and they smell oh-so clean!

bath-time

Perhaps having fun toys with which to play is one of the reasons why my kiddos love baths so much. TheBath Goods from Boon are some of our favorites – right up there with our Munchkin bath toys.

These fun toys make bath time a creative and playful experience while the Flo (also from Boon) provides a simple solution to several bath time challenges…. This unique product diverts the flow of water, creating a gentle waterfall, while providing a protective faucet cover to help guard against injury. This Water Deflector/Protective Faucet Cover also functions as a bubble bath dispenser. Flo attaches easily to the bathtub faucet with a spring-activated grip that requires no assembly or special installation. When the water is turned on, it’s diverted into a stream that extends up to 12 inches in front of the faucet, creating a gentle waterfall and making rinsing hair easy. Easy is good.

When you’re all done in the tub, be sure to grab the Kuster Bath Toy Store. This Toy Store was designed for scooping up all of your toys for draining and storing after bath time fun.

But, what is a bath without the bubbles? Johnson’s Baby products are some of our favorites. My mom used these products when I was a baby and every time I give my babies a bath, I’m taken back. The newest products in the Johnson’s Baby line are the Baby Bubble Bath and Wash and Head-to-Toe Foaming Wash – products our bath times just can’t be without! Both are Dermatologist and pediatrician-tested and are gentle enough to use every day.

Tell me about your baby’s bath time and you can win a Johnson’s Baby gift pack, worth $75! This pack contains Bubble Bath & Wash, Head-to-Toe Foaming Wash, and several of the Johnson’s Baby classics (No More Tears shampoo, PINK lotion, Powder, Desitin, Shea & Cocoa Butter Gel, etc.

Bath time here can be kind of trying, keeping the kids in the water and the golden retriever out of it

All we have are the stackable cups that somehow have holes on them (one on each). Our kids LOVE to see water coming out from the holes. Simple joys. =) Thanks for the givewaway!

I have a daughter who just loves the tub. When her brother and sister are at school, she takes a bath. If I forget, she gets so mad. It works out great for me because I can sit in there and fold clothes while she plays. She has to wash each one of her rubber duckies before she gets out. I enjoy each one of these days.

My kids are old enough now that I let them stay and play in the tub by themselves. I don’t like being in the bathroom with them for too long because it is uncomfortable sitting on the floor or on the toilet. I come in when they need help washing themselves.

My oldest could spend hours in the tub playing with bathtoys and playing pretend. My baby is just learning to enjoy relaxing and interacting with me–he still hates the shampooing!

My daughter loves the bath. She likes to bring in her toys and puts the wash cloth in a plastic dish with some plastic water whistles as candles and makes birthday cakes.

Hi Christine! My 8-month-old Brody just got introduced to the ‘big boy’ bath and loves sitting up and playing in the water. He especially loves having the shower head sprinkled on him.

My son is 19 months old, so bath time is JUST getting fun. He’s learning to splash and have fun with bubbles, and he only has one toy, a blue duck I got at Bath and Body Works when I was picking up lotion, but he really, really likes it.

Our son, Caiden, turned 2 years old today. We love when he takes bubble baths. He’s the kid running to the tub as others run away! He was a waterbug since he was a baby-baby. Caiden loves his bubble baths so much we had to enter the YouTube/Johnson Big Bubblin’ Stars. What I find he likes is an old plastic pitcher we had, poked small, weird holes under and around the pitcher in different angles. We then dipped the pitcher in the water, lifted it up and as the water drains he laughs as it shoots itself out of the picther in different directions from the multiple holes. Safe and fun.

My son is four and I have so many fond memories of his bathtime – from the first bath to now. For now, I love sitting in the room next to him and listening to him play. His imagination has really taken off and it always puts a smile on my face – and sometimes a chuckle – to listen to him and his multitude of voices as he role plays!

We usually bribe him to get out in order to head off any tears. Afterwards, I put lotions on him, clean pjs and brush his hair. Then he runs to Daddy so that he can smell how good he smells.

Bath time is awesome as long as the no splash rule is obeyed because Mommy doesn’t want to break her neck slipping on the tile in the bathroom! My daughter likes to draw on the tub with her tub crayons and markers and she loves to pretend she’s swimming. Sometimes I even read her a story or two while she pours water in and out of different sized cups or “washes” her My Little Pony’s hair.
