Rub a Dub

by Christine - From Dates to Diapers on April 4, 2009

Bath-time is always a very fun time around here. My little guys can play in the tub for hours…literally. I finally drain the tub only after their fingers and toes have turned to “gator skin” and they smell oh-so clean!

bath-time

Perhaps having fun toys with which to play is one of the reasons why my kiddos love baths so much. TheBath Goods from Boon are some of our favorites – right up there with our Munchkin bath toys.

These fun toys make bath time a creative and playful experience while the Flo (also from Boon) provides a simple solution to several bath time challenges…. This unique product diverts the flow of water, creating a gentle waterfall, while providing a protective faucet cover to help guard against injury. This Water Deflector/Protective Faucet Cover also functions as a bubble bath dispenser. Flo attaches easily to the bathtub faucet with a spring-activated grip that requires no assembly or special installation. When the water is turned on, it’s diverted into a stream that extends up to 12 inches in front of the faucet, creating a gentle waterfall and making rinsing hair easy. Easy is good.

When you’re all done in the tub, be sure to grab the Kuster Bath Toy Store. This Toy Store was designed for scooping up all of your toys for draining and storing after bath time fun.

But, what is a bath without the bubbles? Johnson’s Baby products are some of our favorites. My mom used these products when I was a baby and every time I give my babies a bath, I’m taken back. The newest products in the Johnson’s Baby line are the Baby Bubble Bath and Wash and Head-to-Toe Foaming Wash – products our bath times just can’t be without! Both are Dermatologist and pediatrician-tested and are gentle enough to use every day.

Tell me about your baby’s bath time and you can win a Johnson’s Baby gift pack, worth $75! This pack contains Bubble Bath & Wash, Head-to-Toe Foaming Wash, and several of the Johnson’s Baby classics (No More Tears shampoo, PINK lotion, Powder, Desitin, Shea & Cocoa Butter Gel, etc.

Just a couple of months ago we went through our first experience giving each of the three kids a bath. Getting right to the heart of the matter, my wife ended up taking three baths (unfortunately, she declined an opportunity to ‘capture’ the moment). Johnson’s has been associated with baby care for as long as I can remember and the gift pack would allow us to pass some of that pampering on. :)

My son loves to make new “formulas” while taking a bath. He gets a bowl, mixes a bunch of different items in it (i.e., shampoo, body wash, etc) and makes up a name for his new and improved mixture! I’ve started to our bath gear and bought a bunch from the dollar store for him to play with.

Bath time was always fun at my house with the grandchildren who stay over a lot. The first shower my grandson had was at my house and boy was too funny. He didn’t want to get out, he loved the water coming down on him and though it was fun. Other times bath tub time is lots of bubbles and they make sculptures out of the suds. Too much fun at my house.

We love bathtime at our house. My daughter has just learned that splashing is the best so we have to be careful what we have out because splashing is a better toy than anything else in the world. She also loves to take her rubber ball into the tub with her and bounce it in the water causing it to splash also.

My grandson loves his bathtime. One time I purchased a set of four ducks that would light up when they floated in the water. When he was in the bathtub, I started putting the ducks in one by one. When I moved back to watch his reaction, the German Shepard started trying to jump into the bathtub. She also wanted the ducks that lighted up.

Bath time is always an experience in the first few weeks since we bought our first home. The boys used to play submarine and would literally “bail” themselves out while mommy went to get pjs and towels. One such time they FLOODED the entire bathroom floor in about five minutes. Needless to say daddy was mad

My two older kids are both at the point where they can shower themselves and I just have to check to make sure they can the soap out of their hair. But now I’m having another baby so I’m sure I’ll have a whole new set of bathtime challenges soon.
