Read Across America (LeapFrog giveaway!)

by Christine - From Dates to Diapers on March 8, 2009

.

It’s National Reading Month…
Make time to read together!

In celebration of NEA’s National Reading Month, LeapFrog has launched 1 Million Reading Hours where you can pledge to set aside at least 10 minutes a day to read. As a mom who loves to read to her kiddos I am looking forward to contributing to the national goal of 1 million reading hours, by committing to read at least 1 hour more than normal every day!

Will you join me in making a pledge?

tagIn true From Dates to Diapers spirit I have a bit of an incentive to urge you to pledge! Yeah, you knew that was comin’, huh?

Leave me a comment, below, stating how much time you pledged in the LeapFrog 1 Million Reading Hours Campaign. At month’s end, I will randomly choose one winner who will receive (directly from LeapFrog) one (green) Tag reader + 5 books (chosen by LeapFrog) for your own use, as well as an expanded-memory LeapFrog School Tag reader + 10 books (chosen by LeapFrog) to donate to your local library!

Happy Reading!

Hey there! I pledge 31 hours this month … an hour a day. The kids and I LOVE to read. My daughter has ALWAYS loved to be read to. In fact, that was the ONE thing I could threaten her with to get good behavior out of her (do you want to read books tonight? Then stay next to me in the store.) :o ) My son, who is on the autism spectrum was another story. I tried everything to get him to sit with me and look at books. However, I’m sooo happy to report that now even he loves books! It took the past 3.5 years of working with him on it but now even he asks for books every day. LOVE it! And would LOVE this prize!

Hi! I pledged 15 hours and 30 minutes for the month. My kids love to read, and are always begging for more, so it will most likely end up to be more than that. What a great idea this is! I would love to win this prize and I know my local library would love the donated Tag reader.

I pledge a minimum of 15 minutes a day. Usually my 16 month old is asleep by the end of that, we do sneak in a couple more here and there throughout the week. He is awesome about coming up to one of us, handing us a book, and crawling into our laps. He is a little man who knows what he wants. I have to tell you, sometimes he brings one of my cookbooks, which at first I questioned, but then thought why not.
