Quickening

Sitting ever so still, I sense a faint tickle inside my womb.
I know it’s you I feel and I smile.
Your movement makes me think of a butterfly trying to escape my cupped hands.

I imagine you dancing, flittering, and flying – like a butterfly – as you grow, develop, and change.
Soon we will meet face to face. But, for now, I revel in the knowledge that you are all mine and you are safe.
My little butterfly.

Isn’t it the sweetest feeling ever!!!! Especially when baby is making you feel so sick just the butterflies movements makes it feel like everything is going to be fine

Sooooo fun!
It was the most awesome thing to feel my daughter at around seven to eight weeks. She was my second baby and I’d read that I might be able to feel the baby sooner with a second pregnancy, but the actual sensation was indescribable. I loved being pregnant both times, but I have to say this was one of the highlights. Your description is so beautiful.

I loved that feeling. I remember it both of my children and it made everything so real!
