Pure Essentials – A Giveaway!!

by Christine - From Dates to Diapers on January 11, 2008

Most of you know that I have a heck of a time staying on top of the laundry… With six kids and 3 loads a day, it is bound to pile up! One of the only new year’s resolutions that my husband and I made together was to stay on top of the laundry. The first step to staying on top of it, of course, is being consistent about washing those 3 loads a day.

Proctor & Gamble has made it easy for me to do this with their Pure Essentials line. Pure Essentials Tide is made with Baking Soda, and Aloe Vera is one of the great ingredients in Pure Essentials Downy and Bounce. These products come in two fresh scents – White Lilac and Lemon Verbena, with Citrus Extracts, that leaves clothes feeling clean, soft and fresh.

Now, in honor of my New Year’s Resolution, I am offering a fantastic prize pack, courtesy of Proctor & Gamble. To enter, simply leave a comment on this post by Friday, January 18th, and make sure you leave me a way to contact you if you win. This is what you could win:

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
  • 50 oz. Tide Pure Essentials
  • 44 oz. Downy Pure Essentials
  • 70 Sheet Bounce Pure Essentials
  • 27 oz. Febreze Fabric Refresher
  • Wicker Basket
  • Bath Towel

I will randomly pick a winner at 9:00pm (PST) on the 18th, and announce the winner shortly after. Good luck!!

Do you have any tips that may help me stay on top of my laundry? I would love if you would share your secrets with me!

This giveaway is now closed.

I try to keep to a schedule. Towels on Monday, sheets on Tuesday, colors on Wendesday, whites on Thursday. And then I start the cycle all over again.

Thanks for the chance! I wish I had some tips…although I recently realized my laundry was less b/c the kids were shoving the dirty clothes back in their drawers. I’m trying to decide if I mind.

There are only 3 of us, but I swear the laundry multiplies in the hamper. My husband does his own laundry every night. I do the laundry for my daughter and I every day. I’ve just come up with a new system of separating hers and mine out of the dryer into separate labeled baskets and she’s going to put her own clothes away. What a great contest!

Humm, don’t really have any ideas on laundry, I do it as it gets dirty!! What makes me mad is when I am getting ready to do a load of wash and remember I don’t have any detegant left, so then I got to run to the store to get some!
I’m in for this one!

OMG! DO I ever need this prize?! :)
My only “trick” is that I wash mine and the kids clothes seperate from Hubbys. That way all of his clothes are together for HIM to put away once I’m done washing, drying, and folding them! One less thing for me to do! And since I started making him put away his own clothes, I’ve noticed that he’s become more “selective” about what he puts in the laundry, rather than just throwing in anything he doesn’t feel like folding! So it saves me a little in that respect too!

I have my five year old help me. She loves to fold and hang clothes (the one thing I hate)so I have her do that part. She’s also help by putting the clothes into the washer, moving from washer to dryer, and taking out of dryer. It’s her only chore, besides cleaning her room, but she loves it.

I am in the same boat as you with the laundry. I only have one child but my husband is a ceramics teacher AND football coach so he goes through A LOT of clothing! The only way I stay on top of it is by trying to get a load done before I leave for work in the morning and then throw in one more load right when I get home.

I would definitely love to win the prize pack though!

I hate doing laundry – but I have tried this new Tide and ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! Such a clean crisp fresh smell – and I am currently out of it and using some knock off crap! LOL – I don’t have a secret to laundry – I guess i try to do a couple loads each day – with 3 guys in the house – it’s not easy!

Get one of those multi-compartment laundry sorters. Use one for whites, one for colors, and one for either jeans or towels. Then, when one gets full, simply empty the section into the washer, and go. When it’s done and you put it in the dryer, toss the next load into the washer. By the time they’re both finished, you can empty the dryer, put the newly laundered load from the washer into the dryer, and toss load 3 into the washer.

To get stuff folded, make it fun for the kids. Have races to see who can fold the most stuff. Then divide it into piles (each kids clothing in a separate pile). Then have a race to see who can put their stuff away the quickest. Only the kid that has done it, and everything is where it belongs should be the winner (cuts out on the shoving everything into one drawer).

And if you have dry clean stuff, utilize a local cleaner that offers pick-up and delivery service. Eliminates 2 chores from your list, and leaves you some extra time to do other things.

I was folding and sniffing and I was like WTH, I was so tempted to redo the laundry – it was a name brand, purple bottle, ahem… not going to mention them. But I WANT TO WIN, puh leeze! Separating whites and colors is a myth – it’s really not neccessary. Get a front load washing maching if you can and always use liquid softener.

The best tip I hace is to have 2 or 3 small laundry baskets or whatever you may use for dirty laundry and to drop them in the baskets or hampers as they become soiled acording to whites , darks etc as it saves time when it comes to washing.no sorting or wondering if you have say enough of one type of laundry to wash.
Drawbacks… not enough room in your laundry area. :P
