Pretty in Pink — A Giveaway

by Christine - From Dates to Diapers on March 14, 2008

How do you bond with your little bundle? Breastfeeding is one of the best ways to bond, but have you thought about some other ways? Cuddling and snuggling with baby is truly a bonding experience, and so is giving baby a bath, giving your little guy a massage, and even playing peek-a-boo with your angel. Once you think about it, you’ll realize that there are so many ways that you can connect with your Baby.

Post bath-time with Baby is one of the most popular bonding times in our house. I can’t help but snuggle and nuzzle their warm, clean necks and kiss that clean little nose! And, of course it includes that iconic pink bottle of lotion… The best most recognized baby lotion out there!

mariska-animation-movie-pos.jpgEmmy award-winning actress, and new mom, Mariska Hargitay, has teamed up with Johnson and Johnson and is using her “baby voice.” As a result, some adorable cartoons have been created to help us realize the importance of bonding with your baby, and the benefits of a mother’s loving touch. It was fun to see these fun little cartoons with a talking baby (think Look Who’s Talking!).

I have a special gift basket of products, with the whole Pink product line (wash, lotion, cream), for one lucky Mom to win!

Here’s what you have to do to enter:

Visit Johnson & Johnson’s site, www.touchingbond.com, and browse around… There is so much to see! Then come back and leave a comment here, by midnight March 20th, mentioning your favorite way to bond with baby, and why it is your favorite. A winner will be chosen, at random, notified, and announced here on Friday, March 21st. (Please make sure you leave me an email address or blog address, otherwise your entry will be deleted!)

And, if you would like an extra entry, you can spread the word by linking to this giveaway and to www.touchingbond.com. Make sure you leave me a second comment with the exact link to your post to receive the second entry.

Good luck and Happy Bonding!

My favorite time with my newborns was the middle of the night whether for feeding or other. Time spent with them nuzzled up close to me, their skin on mine taking in each of their smells, sounds and smallness. The quiet and stillness of the night when everyone else was asleep was magical (even if I was dead tired :o ). Still to this day I love holding each of them close, rocking and singing to them and enjoying the serenity that we share together in the tender moment. Taking that sort of time out is so precious to me.

Im loving this giveaway, its so perfect for us. Lately our favorite bonding activity has been talking about the new baby coming, mommy’s doctor appointment visits with DD helping the doctor with finding the heartbeat and listening to the heartbeat together at home with the monitor. Its been nice including DD with something so huge in our lives without it just being “yeah, theres going to be a new baby.”

My favorite way to bond with the children in my life (I do not have a little one of my own, but would love to have one in the future) is to use my sences. Seeing their beautiful face, smelling that baby scent, hearing the coos, and feeling that soft, soft skin.

I am going to call a friend now and see if I can come over… baby withdrawls.

I have 6 kids, and each of them I’ve bonded differently. Mainly with the older kids it’s to get involved in their lives, their hobbies, and make sure to go out of my way to make sure they know I’m always around for them.

With my youngest, my favorite is pulling them into bed with me. If it’s the middle of the night and they wake up crying, or first thing in the morning on a weekend just to give kisses, talk to them, and let them wake up slowly!

It’s so wonderful for all of us to bond as a family, because, we are all we have.

Great giveaway!

Ours is around the family table. Everyone needs to sit around the table at dinner time, there is no answering phones or watching television or reading books. Feeding the children is focused driven task, whereby they learn they are important above the rest of the world, and are immediately from baby on recognized as a part of the family.
