Pretty in Pink — A Giveaway

by Christine - From Dates to Diapers on March 14, 2008

How do you bond with your little bundle? Breastfeeding is one of the best ways to bond, but have you thought about some other ways? Cuddling and snuggling with baby is truly a bonding experience, and so is giving baby a bath, giving your little guy a massage, and even playing peek-a-boo with your angel. Once you think about it, you’ll realize that there are so many ways that you can connect with your Baby.

Post bath-time with Baby is one of the most popular bonding times in our house. I can’t help but snuggle and nuzzle their warm, clean necks and kiss that clean little nose! And, of course it includes that iconic pink bottle of lotion… The best most recognized baby lotion out there!

mariska-animation-movie-pos.jpgEmmy award-winning actress, and new mom, Mariska Hargitay, has teamed up with Johnson and Johnson and is using her “baby voice.” As a result, some adorable cartoons have been created to help us realize the importance of bonding with your baby, and the benefits of a mother’s loving touch. It was fun to see these fun little cartoons with a talking baby (think Look Who’s Talking!).

I have a special gift basket of products, with the whole Pink product line (wash, lotion, cream), for one lucky Mom to win!

Here’s what you have to do to enter:

Visit Johnson & Johnson’s site, www.touchingbond.com, and browse around… There is so much to see! Then come back and leave a comment here, by midnight March 20th, mentioning your favorite way to bond with baby, and why it is your favorite. A winner will be chosen, at random, notified, and announced here on Friday, March 21st. (Please make sure you leave me an email address or blog address, otherwise your entry will be deleted!)

And, if you would like an extra entry, you can spread the word by linking to this giveaway and to www.touchingbond.com. Make sure you leave me a second comment with the exact link to your post to receive the second entry.

Good luck and Happy Bonding!

My favorite bonding moments are the 2am feedings. The house is so quiet and I love to take my baby daughter with me to our family room. She is only 2 months old but I can feel the way she completely relaxes the minutes we sit in our rocking chair. It is a rocking chair passed down for four generations and I cherish it so much. By the gentle clicking of the clock, I rock and feed my daughter and tell her all about the other babies in our family who were once also rocked in this very chair. I love the special bonding between her and I and the special bonding I know she is also having with generations of her family. This is the most perfect time in my day and one I know I will miss when she is too old for it anymore.

My bonding time with my 1yr. old is at night. I lay down with him and he holds my face and gives me kisses to fall asleep. So sweet!

I think bonding happens during the constant interaction between you and baby. I breastfed, and think that’s very special, but also loved just holding and rocking him. Can’t survive without that rocking chair!

I have always loved dancing with my babies. It calms them when they’re crying and I love the special time together.

My favorite way to bond with my daughter is at night when I’m reading her bedtime story that she has picked out. It’s my favorite because it’s the time of the day when it’s just me and her, and as I watch her slowly fall asleep while I read, I realize I’m the luckiest woman in the world to have such a wonderful little girl.

I love the long gaze! My older daughter saw me with the baby when we were staring at each other and touching each others faces and see said, “Mommy, that’s so romantic.” So true.

My daughter is 2 now so she doesn’t like to be cuddled quite as much as she used to since she is always on the go. On the weekends I let her take her nap in Mommy and Daddy’s bed. We read stories and then she falls asleep in my arms. I love it!

Just in time-

I am expecting in May, but with my 10week old nephew, I love to bond by sitting with my feet propped up in front of me, so he is ‘sitting’ against my legs facing me. He talks a little and I act like he’s saying something I can understand and we just chatter back and forth. Fun and sweet!

My favorite way to bond with a baby is to read. Start reading to your tummy the minute you find out you are expecting, then read to your baby every day as many books as you can and don’t stop until your child is older and wants you to stop reading.

Feeding time was always my favorite, especially at dawn, the house was quiet, the sun was just rising and i got to spend quality time with my babies.

Well, of course breasfeeding is awesome, but believe it or not, we really enjoy diaper changing time…it’s a good time for my son to get some giggles in from a little tickle action. As soon as I set him on the table he smiles!
