Pre-Party Fun

by Christine - From Dates to Diapers on April 28, 2010

We had a fabulously fun party this last weekend, sponsored by Nintendo and Netflix, which I plan to tell you about soon. But, in the meantime, check out a couple of pictures I snapped before all of our guests arrived….

My boys were jazzed to be hanging out, playing games with the Nintendo peeps!

We had so much food for the evening, the least of which were these beautiful cupcakes.
{And, what do you think about the flower arrangements I put together?}

That looks like a lot of fun!
We’ve done all we can to avoid video game systems, although we caved last year and let my mother-in-law get a yard sale Gamecube for the kids, and it sits in deep, dark, secret storage until we reach a birthday (not infrequent for us).
But, we did do some heavy duty traveling this month, and stayed at a place with a Wii for 3 days. The children had a blast with it, but we never got to hit the planned museums, historic sites, etc. Still, it was good since we needed a break in the middle of our sojourn (27 days of historic American sites on the East coast).
I am also very impressed by the bean bag chairs and cupcakes. Can we bring our gang to your next party?

I just bought the big icing bag tips to make cupcakes like that for Princess’s 9th Birthday a few weeks ago. They came out just as professional looking as yours! You know I”m a frugal gal and hate spending money, but those tips are going to get a lot of use and save me a ton compared to buying bakery cupcakes! Kudos!
