Prayers

girl-praying

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything,
by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,
present your requests to God.

~Phillipians 4:6

My heart is full of many prayers as we enter this coming year.

Prayers for my husband as he continues to seek the Lord, and as he leans on God for strength, provision, and love.

Prayers for my children as they grow in the knowledge of Christ, and as they learn to love each other, serve each other, and shine their light.

Prayers for patience, contentment, kindness, and solid Christian friendship.

But, my heart is heavy with thoughts and prayers for family and friends around the country, and throughout the world. Friends who are hurting and in physical pain. Loved ones who are struggling, financially, to make ends meet. Friends and relatives who are in need of a Savior to rescue them from fear, darkness and depression.

This is the confidence we have in approaching God:
that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

~1 John 5:14-15

Thank you Christine for your compassion for others and willingness to give of yourself so freely. These are hard times for many, including myself, and just knowing that others are willing to pray & offer support is heart-warming. May God bless you and your family with many wonderful blessings this year and many to come!

My prayer request not too long ago was for our family to be blessed with another child (adopted) but now it seems my marriage needs prayer before I can even think about bringing another child/ren into our home…

You and your husband are both in my prayers, Karin. May you grow in unity and grace, one towards another.

Will you please pray for my son Cade? He has autism and I’m believing God for complete healing and total restoration so that he can be the boy God inteded him to be. Thank you so much for praying–it really means a lot.

I lift Cade up to our Heavenly Father, the only One who knows what is best for him. And for you, Kristin, I pray for peace and patience, love and perseverance. Blessings, hun!

Pray for my family. It’s broken right now. And I am broken. But I have the assurance that “All things work together for good.” Just trying to make that my prayer right now.

I pray that the Lord will give you comfort and peace. Lift your eyes unto the hills, and remember that your help comes from the LORD… the maker of heaven and earth.

“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16)

Hubs and I have always hoped we’d have 2-3 kids, and around a year ago, when Lil Man was almost 2, we decided we’d like to go ahead and start trying…

Here we are, and still not pregnant.

Over the past year, symptoms that I’d always tried to ignore have become more prominent. I’m now quite certain I have endometriosis, and that it’s probably spread to the point of rendering me infertile. I know things can be done to ‘fix’ it so I’d get pregnant, but we have no insurance. I don’t even want to go get an official diagnosis (which requires surgery) until I have insurance for fear it would go on a re-existing conditions list.

Arg.

Anyway, prayers for a healing would be much appreciated!!

Thank you for your generosity and compassion toward those you’ve never even met. People like you amaze me!

Blessings for the New Year!!

Erica, may the healing power of God become evident in your life, and may His will be done in and through you.

My prayer request would be that this would be the year we start seeing improvement in Parker’s health.

I’d ask for prayers for Parker’s lung health and heart issues. And that the surgery he just underwent to place a Nissen will result in encouraging news for Parker’s pulmonary hypertension.

Thank you so much.

Because I know that God is in control, I lift Parker up to Him. For He is the Great Physician and is able to do immeasurably more than any thing we can ask, or even imagine.

May His blessings abound in your life and in the life of that sweet baby!

I love your prayer. Very sweet and thought out.
I would ask those same things for my own family.

Plus…..I would like to live more intentionally this year.

I find myself conflicted with the question is this the best placement for her am I really helping her, and struggling with the effects her behavoirs are having on my other children.
Any extra prayers are greatly appreciated

You and your family will continue to be in our prayers, Emma. I think of you all often. I know that God will bless you in unimaginable ways for being so willing to care for His daughter, in spite of the trials and tribulations. Keep on keepin’ on, for great is your reward! xo

thank you for your offer of prayers.

We could use prayers for serenity and stability. My husband’s job has been a great source of stress. The company has been sold once again and we are holding our breath, waiting to see what will happen. He survived the first round of layoffs but there are more to come as well as pay cuts. We really can not afford a layoff and a pay cut would hurt us deeply but would be better then a complete layoff.

I am praying for the peace that passes all understanding, for both you and your husband, during this rough time of uncertainty.

Please keep me posted, but I will certainly continue to pray!

My husband interviewed for a fulltime position at work (with benefits!!He works parttime with no benefits right now) and we’ve been waiting for almost a couple months now for them to make a decision. Please pray that he would get the job! Also, that he would be on fire for the Lord and our family would really have a lot of spiritual growth this year!

Reply

Christine January 3, 2010 at 3:22 am

I will most certainly be praying for you and your family, Emily, especially the job situation. Sometimes spiritual growth must come before we can truly see the Hand of God in our lives, but it is always there.

Hugs, sweetie!

Oh Christine! I am at a loss for words. Your prayer as simple and short as it is but so deep and involved. Beautiful.
We would love extra prayers in the coming year to please help my husband to find a job again. With all of his experience and degrees and it has been such a struggle. Also, prayers for me to look inside myself and determine if working outside the home is right for me. I resigned from a career position w/ no insight into what was to come. The time at home w/ my kids have been wonderful but again a deep struggle financially. Pray for me to see if I am better meant to be home w/ my kids or should I pursue finding another job. Another struggle since during this time I have tried to get back to supplement my husband’s disability and no takers. Pray also for our struggle w/ the VA and the decision they are making on my husband’s disability. After the heart attack and stent placement and his many hospital visits, they have still decided his disability is not severe. He takes 16 medications a day and some are 2 or 3 times a day. He has definitely lost quality of life due to this as well as his inability to do some of the things he used to be able to do. This is limiting him on jobs and without being classed as 100% disabled it throws him out of runnings for many jobs he is more than capable of. & Prayers for our children and the struggles we are having in getting College tied down. Financially we are not even able to get my son’s SAT tests taken care of, graduation basics, or application fees for college yet he has a 3.8 GPA and is soo very successful. Scholarships have been hard to come by.
We will also remember you in our prayers. We keep our strength and continue to have faith. So many more people are worse than we are and they need prayer too. Many people don’t even know God and need prayer also. Pray that they find Him and all his glory.
Thank-You so much for remembering those of us that also need prayers as you keep your own family strong.

Direction and guidance is what I ask of the Lord for you and your family. May you grow in Him as you seek His will for your lives.

I love your prayers and scriptures! My prayer request is that my husband gets a job that he applied for! It would be perfect for him and its the job that he has been wanting for years now!

God knows that 2009 was a tough year for us and most of the World. I hope and pray that we all stay strong in God’s faith and love.

I tell myself everyday that, “HE never gives us more than we can bear.”

God Bless You All in 2010!

Christine January 3, 2010 at 3:26 am

I remind myself of that every.single.day. The Lord will never give us more than we can handle, but it’s because of Him we can bear more than we think.

Keep me posted on your husband’s job… I’ll be praying he gets the one for which he has applied!

My family is doing just fine, but my cousin could use some prayers. He had a very difficult and complex liver transplant over the summer and now the liver is showing signs of rejection and he may have to have a bone marrow transplant as well. Take a look at his journey on his blog – SuperClarkKimble.blogspot.com. He’s sure had a rough time of it and I know he could use some extra prayers.

Christine January 3, 2010 at 3:33 am

How wonderful that Clark has two very eager brothers, who are willing to give up what he needs should a bone marrow transplant become necessary. We will be praying for Clark and will follow him on his journey.

God bless YOU for remembering your cousin in need. Clark has a very special friend in you!

You are a true prayer warrior. Thank you for serving others in this manner, I think it is one of the most honored things to do. If there is anything that I can pray for YOU, please let me know. Right now I am needing prayer that the Lord draw me ever more closer to Him. We just lost (moved to other church) our pastor that helped us through the loss of our daughter. We now how a new pastor that was actually our Youth minister and I love him and his family to death, but I just feel like I am in a desert place right now and can’t seem to get a hold on it. Also needing prayer that my husband finds a job soon. Thanks so much and God Bless you.

In Christ,
Cheryl

I hold fast to the promise, Cheryl, that Christ’s strength is made perfect in our weakness. As it says in 2 Corinthians, “most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” It is during these walks through the desert that we can call out to Him. We can rest in the knowledge that He will lead us to a land that is flowing with milk and honey.

Your generosity is amazing. Thank you.
My son (also) has autism and severe anxiety. He is so fearful almost everything is extremely difficult. I am a single mom and this has been a lonely road for me, even though he is the light of my life. I am really grateful for your kindness.

Wow, this s so wonderful Christine, and humbling. I was going to say pray I get the house I’m hoping for. But after reading the above comments I realize I should pray for God to aid me in placing His will before my own-which is one of my New Year resolutions. I want to be open to His plan for me, to be usable and pleasing to the Lord.

Thank you for all you do. May God pour his blessings upon you.
