Party Pooper

Julia’s birthday was two months ago. Her party scheduled for this afternoon. A luau/beach theme was what she wanted. We decided days ago to have a Hula Hoop contest and play Freeze Dance. There was to be face painting, a huge water slide, and homemade snow cones. Better yet, all of Julia’s little girl friends were coming. She was excited.
My sister, Sara, helped me clean the house on Thursday. My friend, Mindy, went with me to buy the decorations… We scored at Target, finding most things on sale and others to match our theme perfectly. Monkeys, flowers, hula dancers and palm trees filled our bags. We even found a parrot pinata. I was excited.

Everything was ready last night. I even stayed up late to bake the cupcakes and decorate the cake. Just needed to make a quick trip to Costco for some last minute things… Planned to do that this morning.

At 3am we got a visit from a Party Pooper – The flu!
Today there was no party. No cake. No homemade snow cones. No parrot pinata. No water slide.
Just one very sad, and very sick, little six year old.

oh, poor thing! must be something going around… roo was supposed to go to a birthday party and her friend was running a fever, so it was cancelled.
hope everyone’s feeling better soon.
I’m so sorry the party didn’t work out!!Julia looks just miserable. I hope everyone gets better real fast and you don’t pass it all around!
poor little thing
hope she is feeling better soon
That is just rotten. I hope you can reschedule really really soon!!
Oh, poor little girl! What a total bummer. Hope she feels better (and gets extra cake!)
Oh how terrible! Bless her little heart! I hope she feels better soon!
Oh no, Julia must have been devastated. Hopefully you all can reschedule! It sounds (and looks from the pictures) like it was going to be one heck of a party. I wish I lived closer to come crash it!! Feel better, Julia!!
Poor thing! I hope she feels better soon. I had my party ruined this year by the flu also (and I’m 28!) and was sad.
That is one pitiful little expression on her face. Not to take away from your poor daughters illness, but that cake is BEAUTIFUL.
Poor baby! What a bummer! Get well soon, Julia…And rescedule that party!
