October was a crazy busy month for us. To borrow a favorite saying of my Mom’s, some of the days were long, but the month sure seemed short! We’re still adjusting to our new school schedule, and soccer is consuming a lot of our time. But, if that wasn’t enough, Ray was out of town a bit and we celebrated quite a few birthdays. Fun stuff!
Here are just a few highlights from this last month…
The kids and I spent a fun afternoon in Folsom. We walked across the American River on the bike trail, followed by a hike down to the river, and ending with an ice cream cone on Sutter Street. With the older kiddos in school, outings with all of them by myself are few and far between these days.
It is still such a new thing to have the older kids gone during the day. Each morning one of the younger boys asks what fun thing we get to do. Soon they will all be too big to ride the train train and play at the park at The Fountains. Until then, we enjoy every minute.
Timmy turned One!
Timmy took his first steps just before his first birthday and was walking on his own in just a matter of days. Our baby is now a todller!
FOX40 did a piece on teaching kids proper table etiquette in time for the Holidays. They decided that our “crazy” family needed an expert intervention!
We managed to squeeze in to our busy month a family trip to Apple Hill. We spent the afternoon enjoying each other, the beautiful weather, warm apple cider doughnuts, cold pumpkin ale and crunchy kettle corn.
Our friends and family helped the twins and I celebrate during the entire week of our birthdays, with three celebrations in all! We were spoiled with meals out, gifts, cake, ice cream, and good fun!
There were a few days this month that felt like Autumn, but the afternoon we spent at Bishop’s Pumpkin Farm with good friends was one of my favorites. The cool breeze wafting pumpkin spice through the air as we played was just perfect!
Whew!! Just thinking about this last month makes me tired!

We played outside as much as the weather allowed (in between the eight or so inches of rain this month) and soaked up the gorgeous Fall sun!
