Fill Those Shoeboxes! {BIG Giveaway}

I’d like to say that only the little ones struggle with the “gi’mees” and “I wants” at this time of the year, but it’s so easy to be distracted by material things, isn’t it?

Don’t get me wrong. I love to bless others with little gifts, any time of the year. Seeing the joy on my kiddos’ faces when they receive something for which they have longed. Feeling that sense of happiness when surprising the customer behind me in the drive-thru line at Starbucks with a “free” coffee treat. Knowing I have blessed someone in need with the essentials they are lacking. Witnessing the uncontainable excitement when a child receives a gift for the first time in their life. All of this is possible only because of Christ – who was offered as the ultimate gift. It is through Him that I am able and eager to give.

I am honored to partner with Samaritan’s Purse and Operation Christmas Child this year to share the the message that you can impact the lives of children all over the world from right where you live.

Having been to Africa and seeing firsthand how a small gift of love can bring such hope to the life of a child in the bush, I can assure you that a shoebox full of goodies will touch the life of the child who receives it in a mighty, mighty way.

So, grab your kiddos and together decide the age and gender of the child you would like to bless this year. Then, gather your empty shoeboxes, your shopping list and your video camera, and head out to find those gifts with which to fill your boxes.

Why would I ask you to grab your camera? Well, in addition to blessing the life of a child in another country, you could win an all-expenses paid trip to personally distribute shoeboxes to these need children! No joke!!

Head over to ShoeTube (cute, huh?) before the end of National Distribution Week (November 15-22) and upload a video around 3 minutes in length – it’s up to you what kind of video you want to submit, as long as it pertains to your experience with Operation Christmas Child! You can create a video showcasing your packing party, shopping at a local store for your shoebox contents, your tips on how-to-pack-a-shoe-box. It can even be a music video… Feel free to get creative, but be yourself and get your family involved!
