It’s been three long years since I was pregnant with Noah. Many things have changed – This time around I am definitely bigger than I was with any of my first five pregnancies, including the twins. And more uncomfortable. One thing, however, has stayed the same – I loathe maternity clothes. If I had my way, I would never leave the house and would live in yoga pants and tanks. No joke.
Up until a few weeks ago, I would wear a regular pair of jeans, a few sizes larger than what I normally wear, “buttoned up” with a rubberband. Now, when I have to get dressed, I generally throw on a skirt and a clean tank. Or, my maxi dress from Moody Mamas’ Target line (which I really do love, by the way). Comfortable? Yes. Cool? Yes. Trendy? Not so much.
Just before EVO, I had to purchase some clothes for my three oldest kiddos, who had just grown what seemed like three inches overnight, and I couldn’t help but glance at clothes for me. In the regular women’s section. I didn’t even think to look at the maternity clothes. Any guesses as to what I bought? Yup… A couple of peasant skirts and a few tanks.
Now, with Bloggers on Bourbon and BlogHer coming up fast, I’m panicking a little. Sure, I could just pack my skirts and tanks, but what about a chic little dress for the 5-star restaurants and cocktail parties? Or, a trendy outfit for the long days of conference sessions and mingling?
{Sigh}
I just can’t bring myself to buy maternity clothes. Especially since trendy maternity clothes can be so expensive…
Or so I thought.
Stay tuned for My Maternity Fashion Crisis {Averted}

You and my daughter are about a month a part and she complains about the same thing…word for word, kinda scary. She did find a really cute and trendy dress that wasn’t too expensive, but I see you have another version of this post coming so I’ll need to send her over to you. She’s finding it very difficult since this is her first.

I’m sure we could learn a lot from each other, whether we’re baking #1 or #7… Love it!
I hope you found something cute and affordable!
If I had known you had such a hard time, I would have just brought you some of my stuff to EVO!

I hated maternity clothes with my pregnancies, they were so UN-trendy. They make such CUTE stuff now. I hope you find something!

Cute, yes, but also very expensive… Unless you know *where* to look!
Oh I know how you feel. I’ve moved to my dh’s boxers and some large tshirts. I have beautiful maternity clothing, but I’ve outgrown most of it. I’m just so big this time (#7 for me). I am going to the second hand store to purchase a great big dress to wear around the house. lol.

See, I think part of my dilemma is that I have six kiddos to run after. *That* requires comfort, as you well know!
A muu’muu’ sounds fabulous… Will you pick one up for me, too?
I found maternity clothing that was trendy, cute and inexpensive when I used the JCPenny coupons to purchase.
Your like me though..your small. So i always found clothes that were just larger, but not maternity..stuff that tied AROUND the waist in the back. Try Dillards?
