First of all, I would like to mention that neither Ray nor I consider ourselves “excessively religious.” We live out our faith in fear and trembling, but in no way do we force our beliefs on any one. I am sorry you were offended by my remarks, however I will not apologize for my faith and beliefs.

We are, in fact, Bible believing Christians, but I must clear up one thing — I’m not sure if you poked around enough to notice that Ray and I no longer believe as we did about birth control. In fact, Ray had a vasectomy just last year. As I mentioned in my reply to Melissa (see above), this page has been updated several times since it was first written, although I neglected to change my thoughts here regarding this one issue.

I do hope you come back again… We can agree to disagree on a few things, no?

I admit it was somewhat snarky to say that we couldn’t control the number of kids we have, but when this was written – long before I even knew about our sixth AND seventh blessing – we had no intention of doing anything to prevent the possibility of future children. In fact, we didn’t believe that we should use any form of birth control.

Obviously that has changed and I can see how my comment would seem inauthentic… This page has been updated several times since it was first written, although I neglected to change my thoughts here regarding our feelings about birth control.

I agree with some other comments. I thought that I had stumbled across a nice blog, written by a nice lady with nice kids. How nice. When I read the quote above I realized that I was dealing with an excessively religious type. Obviously you can, and should, limit the number of kids you have. This exemplifies the problem with the excessively religious in America. This is why we must fight to preserve the separation of church and state. If not, then you too will have no way to “somehow control it.”

This may be a nitpicky thing you don’t want to change about your FAQs and that’s obviously your right – I just wanted to let you know that this particular thing really stands out as being illogical and inauthentic in an otherwise really charming, authentic, funny page.
