This last week, I had the privilege of meeting Shannon, from Following Our Bliss. She is mama to four adorable children, and makes beautiful crocheted hats. I asked her to tell us a bit more about herself and her family, and this is what she said:
I became a mom at 18 years old when my son, Jack, was born. With a ton of love and support, I graduated college with a degree in finance, was a full-time working mom in corporate America, met and married my best friend and created the life I have always dreamed of. Since I was a little girl I knew that I wanted to be a mom. While that happened a lot sooner than I had planned, it has been the greatest gift in my life. Today I am blessed with the opportunity to be at home with my 4 kids full-time.
If my children have taught me nothing else, it’s that life is unpredictable. Nearly 3 years ago I became pregnant with what we thought was our third child. Within a few weeks, we learned that we were expecting a very rare type of identical twins. They were monomamniotic, which means they shared a placenta and an amniotic sac. My precious daughters beat some tough odds and made it here healthy and well.
The arrival of my girls awakened my long dormant creativity. This former financial analyst has developed a love for all things crafty and domestic with a special love of crochet. This past fall I started a little crochet hat business. Never in a million years could I have predicted the path my life would take, but I wouldn’t trade one step. I am excited to see where the next 30 years take me!
Thank you, Shannon, for giving us a glimpse of who you are.
You can visit Shannon at Following Our Bliss and find her crocheted creations at Executive Homemaker.
