I would like to introduce you to Kellie, a 27 year old stay at home mom to 2 (soon to be 3) wonderful children. Kellie was nominated by Jodi (remember from last week?) and was a pleasure to get to know!
Kellie, please tell all of us a bit about yourself.
My husband and I met officially in October of 2001 at a bookstore in town. I had contacted him off the AOL personal ads. I thought he had nice eyes. Immediately upon meeting him I was attracted to him. Not in the physical sense but more attracted to his inner self. I felt like I could see it and get a sense for it even though we had never met before. When I kissed him, it was like coming home. I can’t even begin to describe how I knew he was “THE ONE” after the first kiss. There was a familiarity with him that I had not had with other guys that I dated. We didn’t become exclusive right away (even after the first kiss). We dated each other on and off for about 9 months. I hadn’t seen him since April so I called him up and asked him if he would like to go out to dinner with me (I was a boy chaser back then… *giggle*). To my delight, he said yes! Then, on July 19, 2002, our first date (like Kellogg’s cornflakes… ya know?) became our last.
We became engaged in September of 2003 and our wedding was set for September of 2004. In December of 2003, I found out that I was pregnant for the very first time. He wanted our baby to be born into marriage and so we moved up the wedding date. We got married on March 20, 2004 (the first day of spring!) and will be celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary this year!
Though Owen was not planned, we were excited to bring him into the world! I would say that next to our wedding, having Owen was the happiest day of both of our lives!
Sophia was another not-planned bebe. However, we loved our Owen and looked forward to bringing another into the world!
Now, this one, I would love to say was planned (hehehehe), but as unplanned as our history has been…. he (yes, it’s a boy!) was also a blessed surprise!
I am currently going to school full time for web development. I am a bit of a geek since I love computers, the internet, video gaming, etc. In my spare time, I enjoy scrapbooking and reading.
Did you always want to be a mom?
ALWAYS. I love children. If money were no object, I’d bring a dozen into the world! I feel that children are blessings and I thank God every day for mine!
If you could travel to any where in the world, where would it be, and why?
I have always wanted to go to India. The culture intrigues me. Have you ever seen a Bollywood film? They are beautiful, artistic and so spiritual in nature. I guess it’s always been a mystery to me and that makes me want to see and experience more.
What is the most interesting thing about you?
I’m goofy and fun to be around. I think that keeps people guessing. *giggle*
If you had to put your life motto in to one sentence, what would it be?
“Life is what you make it. If it gets messy, clean it up. There is nothing the Lord can’t un-do.”
How can we pray for you this week?
I am worried that my third c-section won’t be a charm. Please pray that the baby and I get through it safely.
Kellie writes about her life as a wife and mommy at Confessions of an Organized Mess.
