Mom of the Week

by Christine - From Dates to Diapers on January 21, 2008

I’m sure most of you would agree that work and stay at home moms do not get the attention and encouragement that they so deserve.

Enter my new weekly feature…

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Every Monday, beginning next week, I will choose a stay-at-home mom or a mom who works from home, who I will interview and put in the spotlight – Incredible moms who don’t get much more praise and recognition than the slobbery kisses and sticky hugs from their little ones. Now, I’ll be the first to say that that is certainly not a bad thing — I love those moments of sheer adoration as much as any mom! However, these moms deserve a chance to shine beyond the dirty walls of their sticky floored home, and be encouraged by all fellow moms.

In addition to the attention they will receive here by you, the featured mom will be awarded a button to proudly display on their blog or web site linking to their special time in the spotlight. How cool is that?

Here are ways that you can participate:

1) You will have the opportunity to leave the featured work or stay-at home mom words of encouragement, funny quotes, or tips to help her navigate her way through mounds of dishes and loads of laundry. This will be a great way to cheer these moms on. All comments left on the Mom of the Week post will be emailed to the featured mom at the end of the week.

2) Do you know an incredible mom who deserves the spotlight? Or, perhaps would you like some encouragement yourself? If you answered yes to either of those questions, please email me with your nominee, at fromdatestodiapers@yahoo.com with Mom of the Week as the subject.

3) Help spread the word. Grab my button, from the box below, and place it on your sidebar, write a post about my new feature, or email your friends to share this fun new way for moms to encourage each other. Please let me know if you decide to link up to help spread the word!

I am looking forward to this fun new way to meet and encourage moms from all over blogland!!

This is the best idea ever. I love ideas that help support moms. There is so much moms deal with and there is never enough pats on the back. For moms to recognize fellow moms I think its great! Good thinking!

Oh, and I found out from Angie’s link.:D

This is a great idea, I’m not really sure what you are looking for in the moms you want nominated- boring and mundane? cute and sassy? funny and creative? LIKE ME? LOLOL
I have a few ideas of some mom’s who surely could use a little comment love, I’ll think on it more and email you when I have some time to write you about them.
Again, GREAT IDEA!!!
