As I’ve mentioned here before, child hunger in the United States is a real problem. It hurts my heart to know that nearly 17 million children worry about where they will get their next meal, and many go without the food they need to grow healthy hearts, minds and bodies.
Seventeen million.
That number boggles my mind.
Well, ConAgra Food’s Child Hunger Ends Here rally campaign is making a difference, with events that have been taking place all over the nation. Events that are not only bringing awareness, but more than that, help.
To kick things off, CHEH was on the set of Desperate Housewives on April 7th, holding a mock neighborhood street rally on Wisteria Lane. During this rally, the show’s stars – Dana Delany, Brenda Strong, Beau Mirchoff and Andrea Bowen – helped fill bags with food to donate to Feeding America.

ConAgra Foods has also recruited 14 bloggers, in 14 different cities, who support the cause and have hosted CHEH Neighborhood Rallies. You can view the list and follow these fabulous bloggers {some of whom I know and love} by visiting www.ChildHungerEndsHere.com.
To compliment these events, mini-rallies were hosted by HouseParty on Sun. March 28th. Check out what people are saying about these in-home get-togethers.
There is certainly still time for you and your family to get involved!
Check out the the “Clothes Off Our Back” organization. They are hosting a Celebrity Auction benefiting Feeding America, where you can bid on items from top celebrities and help hungry children by purchasing a one-of-a-kind item from your favorite celebrity.
But, if that’s not your thing, how about planning your own event? What are your ideas for a unique mini rally your neighborhood could organize? I’d love to hear them!
Let’s rally together and help make a difference in the lives of children all over this country.
I’m proud to be working with ConAgra Foods on the Child Hunger Ends Here program. Follow @ConAgraFoods or visit the ConAgra Facebook page for the latest updates.

I think you know how I feel about this cause already. It’s very close to my heart.
I think holding a neighborhood food drive would be fun!! Great thing these folks are doing and we’ve got to keep it going!! Thanks for reminding everyone.

I’ve been fortunate to be a part of this campaign as well and have been thrilled by the response in my community. On May 22, I have 25 other bloggers from our area who are donating their things and volunteering their time for a big rummage sale where 100% of the proceeds will go back to Child Hunger Ends Here. I can’t wait.
