Macy’s is giving this year… Will you?

I remember watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade every year on TV, always wishing I could be there in person to see it. I know, I would be freezing, but it would be soooo much fun. I have to say that I am a bit envious of Katja… She’s planning to take her kiddos this year!

Just as my parade-watching tradition is special to me, writing letters to Santa Claus is an age-old Christmas tradition for children all over the world. This year, Macy’s is collecting these letters in a special Santa letterbox at all Macy’s stores. For each letter received, Macy’s will donate $1 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The Believe Meter will measure America’s belief, based on our collective spirit – including the amount of letters received and other current events that reflect the season’s generosity.

We’ve never written letters to Santa, but if we did that would mean $6 would be donated to Make-A-Wish this year, just by doing so… Maybe we can do something more!

Oooh the parade is FANTASTIC! It was on my list of things I had to do one day and I was able to see it back in 2006. :) My new goal is to take my daughter!

This is a pretty cool thing that Macy’s is doing — thanks for letting me know!
