Not sure if you remember, but back in April I was one of 15 bloggers invited to the Nestlé Culinary Institute in Solon, OH. We had the opportunity to hear from top experts in parenting and psychology and even got to meet Celebrity Chef, Antonia Lofaso!
I had an amazing time with the folks from Nestlé, as well as with some of my good bloggy friends. I would be thrilled if you checked out the highlights from our day ::
The fine folks at Nestlé / Stouffer’s sent some fun little goodies home with me and I would love to pass some of them on to one of you, so you can capture your own dinner time memories! I have a Flip MinoHD, and a Family Dinner Box of Questions and here’s what you need to do to enter to win them:
- Leave me a comment here, telling me what you and your family love about dinner time. Do you carve out time in your busy day to eat together? Have you created any traditions around this last meal of the day?
You may do each of the following for additional entries, but each entry must be left in a separate comment to qualify:
- Tweet about this giveaway, using the hashtag #D2Dgvwy and the following link :: http://bit.ly/7cbDf. You can do this every day during the duration of this giveaway for a separate entry!

we have yet to do much at dinner time except to get everyone together at once. it’s a good chance for face time.
We always wait to eat dinner together. If someones running late or has practice dinner waits until we can be together. It helps keep us all intouch with our busy schedules.

We have one tradition during our shared dinner. We try to get our daughters to try one new food a week during dinner. We give the a couple of different items during the week so they have some choice.

Dinner time.. We try sooo hard to make sure we all eat together.. Doesn’t always happen because we don’t know when DH will be home and even then sometimes he has to work late or leave if there is an emergency… So together dinner time is so important for us to bond as a family…

We all sit at teh table with no electronics and talk about the day we had. It’s our way of sharing time.
Dinner time is wonderful, we take turns cooking or assisting in cooking dinner on different days of the week and we all celebrate the meal we cooked together! It also is a great time to catch up on the events of the day! Thanks!
Dinnertime is a wonderful time when the whole family can come at the same time. We talk about our day and we laugh at the funny stuff.
Dinner time is great for our family. We all sit together and talk about what went on in our lives during the day. We also like to make plans while eating dinner, like what’s going on for the weekend or plan weekend trips.

I love that dinner time in our home is a chance to catch up with each other and hear about everyones day.
I love dinner time because we all sit around and tell each other about our day, it can get pretty interesting when our three year old starts telling stories.

I love dinner, but sometimes I feel like I fix the same ole’ same ole’.
My favorite part about dinner is doing dishes together afterwards and telling one another about our days.

My family is all together at dinner! I like to cook when I have the time and I have three kids and a husband who like to eat it! It works out great!
I love dinner time with my family because we all gather around the table and each of us talks about what we did that day, and we just have telling jokes and things like that.

Well I have two teens so with sports practice, orchestra practice, and after school activites it can sometimes be hard to have a leisurely dinner. But we try…and usually succeed about 5 nights per week. We talk about what everyone did that day, plan vacations, talk about our wknd plans coming up, etc.
I wish we could all sit down and eat together but we don’t have a kitchen table or enough bar stools. lol We live in an apartment and don’t really have room for a table. The girls eat at their little play table and dh and I eat on the couch. When we go out to eat we talk about our days or about softball. Both dh and my oldest play softball so that takes up a lot of our time and our conversation. Thank you!
The only time we’ve had meals together in my family is when we go out or on holidays.
I think it is so cool that you visited my hometown area in Solon. Stouffers/Nestle is a great company!
Although sometimes we get the urge to grab our plate and sit in the living room to watch a show,i try to make sure that MOST days of the week we sit together (at a real table;)) and enjoy dinner with each other.

We try and spend as many dinners together as a family as possible and right now we do pretty well — we don’t have any traditions really — just getting together and talking over what has happened that day and what we are looking forward to.
Wow! Just like at American Girl!

I love that we get to have dinner just the two of us and relax and spend time together. We get to sit down and talk about our day and just focus on each other for an hour. The rest of our day is so crazy that this is our time just for ourselves.

We do not get to eat dinner together most nights due to my husband working 3rds. So when we do get to eat together we share the week and the new exciting things are daughter is learning.
We love having equal time talking about our day. On slow days, we go around the table each contributing a line for a totally improvised story. They get pretty wacky and we laugh so hard!
Thanks!
I love dinner time because I’m always busy with my son so it’s the only chance I get to really talk to my husband. We eat dinner and our son is nearby playing.
Dinner time for us is a chance to relax and catch up on what’s happened during the day, then plan what we’ll do for the rest of the evening!
I like that we can share the day with eachother.
We tend to eat dinner separately on most nights, but we have a tradition of trying to have a date night for dinner at least once a month. It may not seem like a lot but with our schedules being completely different it takes a lot of effort to find one night a month where we turn off our phones and have dinner and a movie with just the two of us.
We eat dinner together most nights, at least during the week. We make a point of sitting down together and enjoying our meal. A lot of times we have extra people, our adult son and his girlfriend come over many nights, and its a really nice chance to spend time together.
We eat together almost every night. What is special is the time to get together and have fun and connect. Also, I make dinners from scratch so people are eager to eat my food-especially my husband who loves my cooking.

Despite our busy and varied schedules, my family always sits down to dinner together at least three nights a week, and it’s a time for us to leave all of the stresses and preoccupations of our everyday lives behind and simply relax, enjoy each other’s company, and talk about nothing but fun and pleasant topics (i.e., no current events, rant sessions, etc.!). As a tradition, even though Mom does most of the cooking, over the years we’ve taken to assigning one person to make a surprise dish or dessert to be added to the dinner table at the last minute, which itself has provided a ton of memories, from good (like Dad’s shockingly good chocolate cheesecake) to bad (my sister’s failed attempt at chocolate cake, in which she mistakenly added salt instead of sugar).

Dinner time is a time when our family talks about our day and what activities we have coming up.
When our kids were still living at home we always did dinner every evening at 5pm. Now that all of the kids are grown and out of the house we tend to watch tv while eating dinner. It’s actually very nice to have a relaxing dinner while watching the evening news and just catching up with each other.
We love dinner time because we can catch up on what each other have been up to. We also love dinner time because of the food…we love to eat…lol!
We all eat at the kitchen table and each of us takes turns and tells all about our day
My daughter and I eat together every night and talk about our days. Then we wash dishes together!
Even though we have really crazy schedules we always make time for dinner most nights. I really like to cook, especially bbq in the summer time, and we sit down to a nice meal as a family. Its one of the few times when everyone is not plugged into a laptop, mp3 or other electronic device.
I love dinner time because we all get together and talk to each other instead of always rushing about doing our own thing. Dinner time is family time!
Our most fun meals are the ones we make together like pizzas, salads etc. and meals that everyone takes responsiblity for a dish like we did this evening when we grilled steaks. Thanks! senekers@comcast.net
We always eat together, except for my husband who gets home too late during the week. I just love the feeling of togetherness when we’re all working to get dinner made & get the table set. And of course our conversations with our boys are always hilarious.
What we love about dinnertime is that we all turn out computers, TV’s, and cell phones off and spend the time eating and talking about whatever!

We like sitting down together and getting caught up on our day.
we all sit and eat together and stay until everyone is done eating.
Dinner time can be a bit crazy with our family of seven (five kids and two parents)! A mess is usually the result, but the quality time spent together is a great way to connect when everyone starts to get busy!
What we love about dinner is that it is our chance to be together and talk about our days.
What we love about dinner time, is that we make it a point to sit at the table together. Not on the couch, not in different rooms, always at the kitchen table.
We eat dinner together most of the time. We talk about what we did during the day and just general conversation.

We always have a dinner together, but we don’t talk much because we are usually hungry and too busy with eating
But after the dinner we hang out together and talk!
It’s hard for us to eat dinner as a family most of the time, seeing that I don’t get home from work until 8pm. But my dh sits with the kids & eats with them when I am not here.
We used to eat dinner together when the kids were younger – but now we all work different shifts – once in a blue moon we get to eat together – if our schedule align. I really miss having our dinners together

My family always eats dinner together. We go around the table and say our favorite part of the day.
We always catch up on what happened that day at dinner. It is a special time of the day for us because it is the only meal the whole family eats together because my husband sometimes leaves before we wake up and doesn’t come home until after 6 pm. Sometimes he tells silly jokes he heard that day. The kids also look forward to dinner because I usually make dessert.
we try to eat dinner together at least 5 times per week and talk about our days but sometime it can be hard with the kids sport schedules and wotk schedules but we do it the best we can

Dinnertime is special in our house. It almost the only time of the day that we can get together and enjoy each other. We like to sit at the table with no TV and we each talk about our day.
