I can’t wait to meet YOU!!

by Christine - From Dates to Diapers on April 4, 2013

Hi, I’m Christine – the crazy mama up there in my header. Yes, all seven of those kiddos are mine – six boys and one girl – and I’ll tell you about them in a minute.

First, a bit about me

My husband and I will celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary this summer. We love to travel, with the kids and without, and can’t wait for our next adventure. Staying connected to each other is very important to us, so we make time for regular date nights and romantic weekends away.

I started blogging almost 8 years ago, when I was pregnant with #5 and had four babies 4-years old and under. My best friend moved out of state and, after much begging, talked me in to creating a blog simply to keep in touch with her. It was just what I needed to stay in touch with her and other stay-at-home moms.

Now, meet my kiddos

Ethan and Zach are our mischievous twin boys. I’m sure you’ve heard about the special bond that twins have, right? Well, as their Mom I could swear that they share a brain. They will finish each other’s sentences, they compliment each other like bread and butter, and very seldom will you see them apart. But, they’re kind of going through a rough time – they want to explore their own individuality and are ready to be seen as something more than just twins.

Julia is our only daughter, sandwiched between a gaggle of brothers. She is the only one who has yet had a broken bone and the first to have a gash deep enough to require stitches. She’s a tough little princess, though, so don’t you dare feel sorry for her! {Maybe in a few years when her brothers are screening her dates, you can feel sorry for her. I know I will!}

Next in our brood do we have Josh, who will be nine years old next week. Josh looks up to his older brothers, and is the one in charge when it comes to his younger brothers, but is very much the middle child. He is a straight A student, a great listener, and loves to play card games.

Our 1st grader is Ben. He is generally quiet and loves to just observe… Until he gets to know you, and then he will talk your ear off! He’s at home for school this year and I slowly see him come out of his shell.

Then comes Noah, who is the life of the party. At almost six years old he is everyone’s best friend and quite the clown. His facial expressions and body language always has us laughing. He is also our little trouble-maker… You can’t take your eyes off that kid, even for a second!

And, last but not least, is the baby – Timmy. Everyone dotes over this precocious two-year old and will totally admit that he is their favorite.

Whew, I’m tired! So… I’m going to do some party hopping and meet some of YOU. I love to connect with other parents, especially if they’re online! So, please introduce yourself, make yourself at home, join us on some of our adventures, enter my latest giveaway, or read the answers to some of the most commonly asked questions.

I can’t wait to meet you!

It’s great to “meet” you! I’m stopping by from UBP 13.

I have an identical twin sister. (In fact, we blog together.) Growing up, we hung out all the time and did pretty much everything together. I went through a season of wanting to develop my individuality too. Even now that we are both adults, I still think being a twin is one of the best things about my life. :)

I guess Ben still doesn’t know me, he’s yet to talk my ears off. One day. Enjoyed the recap even though I know you and the family pretty well.

I found you through UBP 2013! I also have twins, though mine are younger and b/g. I think it’s awesome that you have 7 kids. I always wanted a large family and even though that hasn’t worked out for us, I love getting to know people who do.

hi Christine! I can’t tell you how much I adore your picture, I hope it’s hanging in your house somewhere. Julia sounds like she could take on the whole gaggle of boys if she needed to..also, your first day of school video is the sweetest. My son is in fifth grade this year too.

Wow, I need to keep up with your adventures. My oldest is 2,5 and I thought having 2 kids 2 years apart was a bit crazy ;) I feel crazy sometimes anyway. Ok I’m going to smile and go mingle before I say something dumb that you’ve probably heard from millions of random strangers.

So we only have two but constantly wonder how people do it with any more, so 7… I am really impressed. Looking forward to checking out your family activities… you are bound to have come across some good ones. :)

You’ve probably got meal planning totally figured out by now but if you ever need any new recipes we have a few (my husband is a Chef).

It’s great to “meet” you too, coming from UBP13. :) I’m from a family of seven so I LOVE reading about big families…and the hubby and I are still working on that whole date-thing, so maybe I’ll find some tips from you!

Hi Christine! I was really just hopping by, but I loooove how you described your kids I felt compelled to post a comment :) I have twins too. Girls, though. They’re just 5 months old now. It’s good to learn from someone who’s been there, done that. We probably won’t cross each other’s paths physically/geographically because I’m halfway across the world from you (hello from Manila, Philippines), but I’m so glad I bumped into YOU right here. So stay sane because a bunch of us is looking up to you for inspiration and waiting around for tips and tricks. :) God bless!
