I don’t know what it is about this year, but I am suffering from allergies mores so than years past. It is a beautiful time of year, here in Northern California, but it seems my kiddos and I are allergic to everything floating around in the air.

For the most part, the last several days, I have had a horrible headache, terrible sinus pressure, and itchy, watery eyes. I’ve simply been no fun to be around – just ask Ray and my poor kids! On top of having a grouchy mom, after an afternoon of playing in our backyard, just about every one of my six kiddos have red eyes and the sneezes. I know they feel lousy and I feel so bad for them.

My kiddos and I take Zyrtec and I use my Netti Pot regularly, but we are still miserable! I would love to hear how you manage seasonal allergies, if you’d be so kind to share. I need some help!!

Try some natural antihistamines like onions, garlic and citrus fruits (lemons and oranges). There are studies to show that these foods decrease allergic reactions in seasonal sufferers.

Another thing to remember is to shower after being outdoors. Your hair and clothing can retain a good bit of pollen and it helps to get all of that off so you don’t have to be subjected to it’s effects.

Lastly, try a good air purifier and a nasal rinse.

Hope that helps!

I have bad allergies year round, couple with a deviated septum that I’ve yet to get corrected, means that bad allergy bouts or simple colds always lead to nasty sinus infections. After spending way more money than a nose job would cost, I finally got smart about my allergies last fall and take a proactive approach.

1. I shower at the end of the day to wash off pollen & other allergens, which als keeps the bed free of this stuff which makes sleeping easier. If I’m working in the yard or we take a hike, I’ll change my clothes & wash as thoroughly as I can afterwards.

2. Neti pot! I can’t say enough wonderful things about my sinus cleansing friend.

3. Nettle tea – I mix it with chamomile since it’s not the best tasting herbal blend I’ve had

4. When things get really bad I’ll take Zyrtec since it’s the only med that works for me.

Honestly, I don’t have allergies, but my husband does. I think that man is allergic to oxygen sometimes. And I’m pretty sure the only way he manages his allergies is by complaining to me about how miserable he is.

So I don’t really have a remedy, but I wish you well and I hope you’re able to find something more functional than my husband’s way of living with allergies! Good luck!

I manage OK. My husband and 2 of the kids get very bad seasonal allergies. My husband swears by Claritin and Nasonex. Our girls have allegra and one uses Nasonex, as well. Hope this helps.

We use local, unprocessed honey. We use to raise our own but when we moved to Tx we had to find a local farmer with bees. Only problem is that you have to start a few months in advance. Take 1-2 tablespoons a day and next year you should see a major improvement…hope this helps

A healthy immune system is the secret. One of the most common testimonies we hear from those using EnerPrime is that they no longer require their allergy meds. The most moving one I heard came from Spokane WA when a father called and said “Guess what my son is doing?” I had no idea. He said playing outside on the lawn. I found that a strange comment until he explained that due to his severe allergies he had never been able to play on the lawn.
