The Compliment Guys headed out on a mission to make people smile…
Purdue University students, Cameron Brown and Brett Westcott, started a weekly ritual in 2008, outside the Purdue University chemistry building, with a “Free Compliments” sign, offering kind and encouraging words to people who walked past.
Kodak thought is was important to spread the love, so they sent the Compliment Guys up and down the East Coast (New Orleans, Birmingham, Atlanta, Charleston, Charlotte, Baltimore, Washington D.C., Philadelphia and NY) for 2 weeks giving out free compliments. They met a Mayor, threw out the first pitch at a baseball game and helped make people smile.
Have you complimented someone lately? I dare you to make someone’s day today!

Awesome! A nice word can make a big difference in everyone’s life!!
I try to compliment each person that I talk to everyday, its a wonderful thing to do, not only to boost them up, but it boosts you up at the same time!! I love being nice!!
That’s really neat!!
What a great idea! I try to say something encouraging to most of the people I encounter every day. Sometimes I’m better at it than others, LOL. I’m having a particularly challenging day with my 3 yr old today, but she just came to me, threw her arms around me, and said “You’re a great Mommy!” How could I not melt and respond with compliments back, even though I wanted to wring her neck an hour ago?! Yet even when they’re acting unlovable, we should be loving them and letting them know…not just our kids, but everyone we encounter.
How fun is that!
I love it!
