Happy New Year!

by Christine - From Dates to Diapers on January 1, 2009

Even with a horrible headache looming, we had a great time with friends last night as we counted down to the new year. We played games, watched a movie, and had a wonderful dinner. Even our four oldest stayed up just past midnight!

As I look forward to 2009 with anticipation, I can’t help but wonder what the Lord has in store for us I know that I can plan all I want, but God’s plan is sometimes very different. I am anxious to see what He has in store for us… I’m sure it will be even better than I imagine!

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11

Here are some things happening in our family life that I am excited about:

*Ray and I will celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary in the summer. I can’t believe it will be a whole decade since we said our vows, pledging to love and honor each other. It has been quite the ride, and I am looking forward to celebrating this milestone with him.

*With Ben begging to do schoolwork with the older kids, I will be including him in more of our studies. Of course his attention span is still increasing, but involving him in more activities help him feel like a big kid.

*Speaking of big kids, we will have only ONE baby in diapers. This may seem a strange thing to be excited about, but there was a time when we had three in diapers at once! Having only one in diapers has not been the case for more than a few months at a time…. Let me tell you, it’s nice to not have to change one diaper after another, literally.

*I am on my way to getting in shape and I would love to stay there. My kiddos have always kept me on my toes, but they wear me out… I look forward to playing tag and not being tired from the “workout”!

Blogging has created that connection and outlet that I so need, but I never dreamed it would turn in to a business venture for me! I am excited to see what 2009 has in store for From Dates to Diapers.

Here are some things on the horizon for me and this little blog (that I can talk about):

*Mom-2-Mom, my weekly BlogTalkRadio show co-hosted by Monica, will air online every Tuesday morning. The Mom-2-Mom channel will be a part of the Walmart ElevenMoms network, featuring all of the ElevenMoms.

*Throughout the year I get to see some of my bestest bloggy friends, from across the states. These ladies have become more than just online friends… Over the last couple of months we have not only worked and laughed together, but bonded over snorts, talking cheese, and discussing homework! You know who you are… Love you! I can’t wait to see you in New York City, Nashville, Austin, and Chicago!

*Lori (my good friend and my self-proclaimed technical manager), Madeline (from Better in Pink), and I, are cooking up a whole new look for From Dates to Diapers. So, please pardon the dust as we work to bring you a better, more reader-friendly site. (Check out my Twitter page for a sneak peak!)

*I will be speaking at BlissDom in February! Alongside Lori and Tara, I will be sharing ways to monetize your blog using affiliates and more. Register today, if you haven’t already… I would love to meet you!

I hope you will join me on my journey through 2009!
