It was just about 4 weeks ago when I told y’all that I didn’t have as much time as I would like to read to my kiddos. Do you remember? Well, a whole lot changed since then, including being told I needed to stay off my feet. Boy, did that little order from my OB create a fabulous opportunity to spend some quality time with my kiddos. What do we do? You guessed it – a whole lot of reading!
That is going to change a bit, of course, when Baby arrives. But, for now, Noah loves to sit with me while he thumbs through the Hallmark Recordable Storybooks, listening to my recorded voice. We laugh and talk about the story together. Sometimes, though, Noah sits by himself and listens to me “read” the stories to him. Most always with a great big grin on his face.
I know that Noah will truly treasure these books, as he gets a little piece of his Mama while she’s busy with his baby brother!
Hallmark is all about sharing their Recordable Storybooks with my friends – Two of YOU will win your very own copy of Thank You, God, For Everything just by leaving a comment here on this post before October 20th!
Also, just as I was able to do last month, I am able to donate another 10 books to a local charitable organization. This month I have chosen to donate the books to our local pregnancy center. (Thanks to Krista for the fab idea!) I know that these books would certainly bless several families welcoming a new baby.
But, what’s more is that one of YOU will win 10 Hallmark Recordable Storybooks to donate to one of YOUR local charities! Leave me a comment telling me about the charity of your choice and why it would be important to you to donate these books to them.
Three winners will be chosen – two to receive a book for their own family and one who will donate the books to a local charity of their choice. Each will be notified by email on or around October 20th.

What a great idea… I’ve seen these around, but never realized how they worked. Definitely perfect for the older brother that mommy can’t read to because she’s taking care of the baby…
And do we need to leave a second comment for charity or just tell you who… mine would go to my local pregnancy center, I think this would be a great gift for new mommies!
Christine that was so heartwarming to watch
. We had that book when my Max was Noah’s age, *memories*. Such a great idea!!

We were talking about the Recordable Books over on PreemieBabies101.com, and I think they would be wonderful for parents of preemies to leave in the NICU so the overnight nurse (or the daytime nurse if the parents work) could “read” the baby a story from their mom/dad.
I looked at getting one of those before my husband deployed but they were sold out everywhere. I think they are the perfect thing for deployed mommies and daddies to do before they leave. I know my daughter would LOVE that!
How neat! It would be great to have one of those books. Donating them to the local crisis pregnancy center is a great idea. I would either do that with the 10, or maybe even donate them to the homeless shelter for the children that come through there.

Very cute book. =) And a great way for the littlest ones to still hear mama’s voice after a new baby comes.
What a great idea. Since my next little one is due soon, this would be perfect for my almost-3-year-old.
However, if I were to get the donation, I would find a military-oriented charity to give it to, so parents who are away on duty can leave something of themselves for their children to listen to.
Would love a chance to win one of these for my son. He is 5months and had yet to be able to meet his Great Gma. I would love to send her this so she could record a story for him!
Not sure if we are suppsed to leave a seperate comment or not for the charity. Im not sure it would count as a charity but I would love to give these to our local childrens hopsital!
wow thanks i have a friend that said she has this and loves it.. I would dontate the extra 10 books to our churches daycare.. How appropriate…
These recordable books are such a great idea! I’m sure my son would get a kick out of it.
As for a charity I would choose? I have for steal Paula’s idea above me and give them to our church kids center! (Thanks for the great idea Paula!)
I’m not a mom, but a very doting aunt, who has seen her niece grow (almost every day) into a beautiful 2 year-old toddler. My niece has become very attached to her “zizia” and I have loved each day that I have been able to spend with her. So now that I’ve gone back to work and can’t see her as much as before, I would like her to know that I’m still there for her when she hears my voice reading her the story books. This weekend I plan to run to Hallmark near my home and buy a couple of books, and have my mom (her “nonna”) let her listen to it each day. What a great idea from Hallmark!
I found your blog too late for this giveaway, but I just wanted to comment anyway, to say thanks for bringing these books to my attention. I am an Army wife and mom to 3, and my hubby is deployed for a year to Afghanistan. We are just 2 weeks into this latest adventure (yay – only 50 weeks left to go!), and I am thinking that this would be such a great idea for us. We are already planning on Daddy recording read-alouds of chapter books (mp3′s, done on his laptop)for the bigger kids, but this page-by-page picture book format will be perfect for our littlest guy. Are the pages thick and sturdy (board-book style) like they appear in your video? I just want to make sure they’ll survive my toddler’s (rather active, abusive) love.
