Just the other day I asked how you, as a busy parent, stay fit and healthy. Some of you emailed me to tell me that you, like me, put yourself last. Others have a very unique diet and workout regimin, while some of you rely on evening jogs and morning walks with your kids to stay active. Until recently, I have kept fit by running after my seven kiddos; and healthy simply because I want my kids to be healthy. But, I know I have to be more diligent about my health and well-being, especially after a recent diagnosis.

Then, I was approached by one of my favorite PR reps who asked me to help spread the word about Centrum’s Nutrition Possible blog, the newest feature of Nutrition Possible. She mentioned Cynthia Sass’ 30 Days to a New You challenge and I was determined to check it out. Each day back in June, Cynthia posted a specific daily goal, shared tips and recipes from her New York Times best selling book S.A.S.S! Yourself Slim, and provided helpful ways to get fit and stay healthy.
If you take part in the 30-day challenge, you will make an incredible transformation in your eating habits in ways that can snowball into big health payoffs over time.
Sounds like the very thing I need! Will you take the challenge with me?
If you participated in Cynthia Sass’ challenge over the summer, I would love to hear which day was your favorite. If not, please tell me about your favorite ways to get fit. Jump in and join the conversation in the comments, and you will have a chance to win a month’s supply of your choice of Centrum or Centrum Specialist multivitamins, as well as a month’s supply of any ProNutrients product.
Entrants may leave a comment up to once a day during the giveaway. Three (3) winners will be randomly selected, from the comments on this post, on September 5th. Each winner will be contacted by email and will have 24 hours to claim their prize.
Please see official giveaway rules before entering.

Hey, since you’re here — what is YOUR favorite way to get fit?
Favorite? Not sure I have a favorite, but I do try to stay active. I go to the gym every morning before work (mainly to keep my Foursquare Mayorship) and try to run 2-4 times a week. Then I have seasonal sports … mountain biking, skiing, snow shoeing, hiking, bowling (it does technically burn calories), soccer (every so often) and I’m sure there is something I’m missing.

I love to walk and try to do it daily. I listen to audio books on my iPod and the time goes quickly.
My favorite way to get fit are with Bob Harper DVDs. His workouts are tough and challenging. One of my favorites is Body Rev Cardio Conditioning.
I like to take my dog for a walk almost everyday and I also use my elliptical as often as I can when I get the time to.
Love going for walks with my little guy!
Lots of walks with the dog and my little man. Plus, I try to lift my 35 lb kiddo as many times a day as possible
I haven’t tried the challenge yet but I have been on an incredible fitness journey since February. For me it has been all about walking the weight off which has actually worked. I’m now down 28 lbs and getting closer every week to my goal weight. After that I want to join a gym to tone up.

Wild blueberry season is over, but apple picking season has just begun: Are there any “wild/shrub” green apple trees in your area? DO NOT let those apple go to waste! Cored, peeled, and simmered, the cooked green apple pulp is delicious with smoked ham or added as an ingredient in muffins or coffee cake. The exercise involved is the the only price paid for em’!
Everyone knows that walking your dog is good exercise, but did you know that having cats can give you a workout as well? We live in a rural area, so we have 2 cats that patrol our farm for rodents- and since there’s coydogs and other animals around I have to round up my cats and bring them inside before dark: I think I’ve lost 15 pounds this summer just doing that!
It’s almost 5 am up where we are, just lugged in an armful of logs to start our wood stove, our main source for heat. Sure is good exercise, because hauling wood is quite physical, especially during the winter!
I,ve started waking up earlier so that I can squeeze in more time for workouts and longer walks with my dog. It’s a lot easier during the school year for me since the kids are back to school.
My husband and I have discovered Tai-Chi, a gentle form of stretching exercises- it helps alot, getting us ready for a full day of hard work.
Get a workout and help your neighbors at the same time: Volunteer to take meals to the elderly & check up on their well being, do any cleaning job they may have trouble doing ( like cleaning roof gutters, ect): You’ll be setting a great example for your kids, too.
Healthy Staying fit Tip: Instead of adding Saltpork for flavor to Fish or Seafood Chowder, try parsnip! Dice 1 large parsnip ( or 3 small ones) and cook with the potato, onion & fish.
This week has been a successful workout week so far.Lots of walking and using my elliptical.

Greetings from the high Mountain foothills of Owls head new York- leaves are already falling everywhere- outside keeping fit, raking leaves and trmming back the flower gardens.
Staying Fit Tip: Sourdough bread slows digestion in your tummy, so you’ll feel full longer! I have a bread machine so I make Rye Sourdough bread quite often, my hubby, who’s type 2 diabetic, loves it, and sourdough doesn’t spike the body’s insulin levels.
Anything as long as it’s first thing in the morning. That’s the only way I can exercise. ‘Me Time’ expires promptly at sunrise! LOL. I jog and go to the gym.

Staying Healthy and fit tip: The weather is changing, so this is the time folks often get a cold ( like I have now): So, Take extra vitamin C, stay away from chemical-laden processed foods and get plenty of rest.
Another way I stay fit is in listening to my body. If I’m feeling more tired or off in any way, I know I’m either over or under doing it in some area.
I have been walking on the treadmill 40 minutes in the morning and 40 in the afternoon it goes fast when I listen to my favorite music
