Football or Soccer?

In the UK it’s called Football. Here in the US it’s called Soccer. What do you call this popular game?

We call it soccer, and my twins are big in to the game… They have always enjoyed watching Daddy play, but have loved kicking the ball around for as long as they’ve been walking! For the past several weeks, they have really enjoyed the MatchMaster Soccer Game, the first in a series of hand held virtual sporting games created by Sean Mumbray in the United Kingdom.

Just what is MatchMaster? Well, it is an interactive soccer game that lets you become a virtual Soccer Star! The idea is to improve your skills and fitness every day by eating well, getting plenty of sleep, and working hard at the training ground every day. Finally, when you are match fit, you can challenge your friends via infra red.

According to the General Manager of the David Beckham Academy, Betsy Pollard, the MatchMaster game is a great soccer training aid for kids as it highlights the importance of a good diet, exercise and the need to train regularly to improve and maintain skills. This game is a fun way to learn what it takes to become a soccer player and allows kids to challenge their friends to matches.

My twins are bummed because one of them lost the game before they were in shape enough to have a match! Maybe when he finds it… But for now the other twin is enjoying getting ready!
