Family Movie Night Is Back With Secrets of the Mountain

Do you struggle to find quality television programing that your whole family can enjoy together, like I do? Ray and I watch some of the more appropriate reality shows with our kiddos, but sometimes out of the blue we find ourselves diving for the remote to mute or pause, just so we can forward through the questionable scenes.

Walmart and P&G saw the need for family-friendly alternatives and created a made-for-TV movie that our whole family is looking forward to watching together. That’s right, Secrets of the Mountain will air this Friday night on NBC, and is certainly not to be missed!

How do I know?

Well, I actually had the opportunity to see it in New York City, last month, not only with some of my fellow Walmart Moms, but also with one of the producers of this fabulous film. As we watched the final cut we laughed and cried, and a few of us even jumped a few times in surprise!

Secrets of the Mountain tells the story of a family struggling to stay connected in the midst of busy lives. After a weekend together, they come to realize that nothing is more important than family and being there for each other. Not at all cheesy, as one would suspect, this movie will create teachable moments and many opportunities to discuss what is truly important.

I found it extremely cool that all of the clothes worn by the cast members, as well as all of the products used, can be found at Walmart and from P&G. I will be honest and say that one scene, towards the beginning, was a bit overwhelmed with Great Value products at every turn, but that can easily be overlooked when the movie was so great!

We also got a sneak peak at the commercials that will air during the movie… You will not want to forward through these, as they are full of trivia and not a single embarrassing moment.

As I said before, this is one movie you and your family will not want to miss!

Of course, you don’t have to take my word for it… See what some of the other Walmart Moms thought of the movie ::

Oh, and check out the Walmart circular this week, to catch some good deals to prepare for your family movie movie night. You may even see some familiar faces. {wink, wink}

While this review was a result of the fact that I saw the movie, in no way does the fact that I saw it in New York City have anything to do with the opinion that I formed, and now express here, of my own volition.

It’s so great to have good options for Family Movie night. My girls are still too young for movies… Clifford is the main show around here.

Sounds like it was fun going to the screening!
