Transformers: Vacuums in Disguise (Dyson DC25 Giveaway!)

by Christine - From Dates to Diapers on June 20, 2009

Last year we had the privilege of reviewing one of the best vacuums ever – The Dyson DC25. I discussed how easy it is to maneuver, and how it cut down on allergies in the air. Zach and Ray even created a fun video displaying how well this Dyson Ball vac moves. This short clip still makes me laugh out loud!

Well, you can imagine how excited my kiddos and I were to discover that the vacuum we have used (and abused) is making it’s Hollywood debut next week. That’s right, the Dyson DC25 makes an appearance as a Decepticon robot in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. My boys always said that our vacuum reminded them of a robot. Maybe that’s why they loved to vacuum!

We’re not sure what the DC25-cum-robot looks like in the movie, but thanks to my friends at Dyson I was directed to some of the speculations ::

Light weight and the ball.. I’m sure it takes getting use to but ooo it must be nice to actually MOVE the vacuumm

Katie Figueroa July 13, 2009 at 5:26 pm

Light weight sounds great to me as I have problems with my shoulder! Getting older is awesome, but it’s nice to know the technology in your great vacuum helps us older folk get older in comfort!

hazel hunt July 13, 2009 at 5:32 pm

nice!

I love the ball! My dyson only goes in straight lines :(

wendy wallach July 13, 2009 at 6:27 pm

In fact, not only are the Dyson uprights certified asthma & allergy friendly by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, but the air expelled from a Dyson vacuum has up to 150 times less bacteria and mold than the air you typically breathe.

This is a feature I wish my current vacuum had.

bagless wonder…now that sounds nice

KD July 13, 2009 at 6:53 pm

Love the roller ball and the fact that it cuts down on allergens. Seems very easy to move!

Christie July 13, 2009 at 6:55 pm

I have to vacuum around so much furniture so the Ball technology would be so helpful to me.

Julie k July 13, 2009 at 7:00 pm

Every other week I have to take the filters out and wash them because it loses sucking power. The Dyson sounds like it won’t lose suction! Thanks.

Deb July 13, 2009 at 7:04 pm

I wish my current vac had the ball technology! That’s the feature that I think is most appealing to me, the ability to maneuver easily.

Deb July 13, 2009 at 7:05 pm
Jennifer Rippett July 13, 2009 at 7:12 pm

Randy Bailey July 13, 2009 at 7:31 pm

The dyson has a lifetime washable hepa filter, a 5 yr. warranty, and a carbon free motor, my vacumm cleaner has none of these features

Pauline M July 13, 2009 at 7:37 pm

I would love to try it out because with that big ball, it’s suppose to be able to get under my beds which I would love. It would be really nice to NOT have to move the mattresses to vacuum under my kids beds. It’s amazing the things I find under there!

Steve Scott July 13, 2009 at 7:53 pm

Easy to manuever

Cori Westphal July 13, 2009 at 8:20 pm
Marcia S July 13, 2009 at 8:21 pm

I love how the Dyson doesn’t lose suction as the bag beins to fill up.

Corina Day July 13, 2009 at 8:26 pm

I wish my vacuum had the ball to make manuevering more easy!

Sue S July 13, 2009 at 8:29 pm

I wish my vacuum had a Lifetime washable HEPA filter.

Geoff K July 13, 2009 at 8:39 pm

I wish my current vacuum were asthma and allergy-friendly like the Dyson DC25 – I’m slightly asthmatic, as are several members of my family, so that feature would be extremely beneficial to all of us. Thanks for hosting such a great giveaway!

I love that it’s bagless, but I really love the ball turning. It would make my vacuuming so much easier.

Mishia July 13, 2009 at 9:45 pm

I wish I had that turning ball, my vac is so heavy and hard to move!

christopher h July 13, 2009 at 9:48 pm

wish mine had the hepa filter for those of us with allergies

Ashley July 13, 2009 at 9:51 pm

I wish my current vacuum had the clear bin. I like that you can see how much dirt you are sweeping up through the clear bin on the Dyson. Each time you sweep it makes that dirt and hair that was microscopic and embedded in the carpet tangible. You can measure how much dirt is actually in your carpet and it also gives you a sense of accomplishment when you think how you are getting all of that grossness out of your house as you empty the clear bin after each time you sweep.

Leslie J. July 13, 2009 at 11:05 pm

Dyson rules.. or so I’ve heard! The commercials make me drool with envy! I like the suction and rolling ball. My cat hair would be vanquished!!
Shazamm!

Ha. :)

Renee Davila July 13, 2009 at 11:08 pm

my vacuum had a Lifetime washable HEPA filter

taylor July 13, 2009 at 11:14 pm

I love the ball… easy way to get around hard corners! Great new concept! My vacuum is currently broken.. so this would be amazing to win.

Vicki Andrew July 13, 2009 at 11:58 pm

My apartment is full of ecletic clutter so I love the idea of the ball, also like the hippa filter. When we were in London they had these niffty hand dryers made by Dyson

jjfiji July 14, 2009 at 12:55 am

I wish mine was as lightweight as the Dyson and that it had the ball to move around more easily (mine is heavy, and a pain to drag around and clean edges).
Thanks!

Leigh Nichols July 14, 2009 at 12:55 am

I like the ball feature, since I have an injured shoulder- this would make vacuming ALOT easier!

When the commercial for this is on tv, my kids stop whatever they are doing and watch it. I would like my vacuum to have the suction power, because my current vac just ain’t what it used to be, and I’m trying so hard to keep the floor decent. I try not to frustrated because hubby’s laid off, and a new vac is nowhere in my near future!
