Transformers: Vacuums in Disguise (Dyson DC25 Giveaway!)

by Christine - From Dates to Diapers on June 20, 2009

Last year we had the privilege of reviewing one of the best vacuums ever – The Dyson DC25. I discussed how easy it is to maneuver, and how it cut down on allergies in the air. Zach and Ray even created a fun video displaying how well this Dyson Ball vac moves. This short clip still makes me laugh out loud!

Well, you can imagine how excited my kiddos and I were to discover that the vacuum we have used (and abused) is making it’s Hollywood debut next week. That’s right, the Dyson DC25 makes an appearance as a Decepticon robot in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. My boys always said that our vacuum reminded them of a robot. Maybe that’s why they loved to vacuum!

We’re not sure what the DC25-cum-robot looks like in the movie, but thanks to my friends at Dyson I was directed to some of the speculations ::

I wish it had the ball for easy turning…what a neat feature!

Kristen Murray June 20, 2009 at 1:57 pm

Sucking power. Mine doesn’t seem to pick up anything.

Jill June 20, 2009 at 1:58 pm

That picked everything up:
Patented Dyson technology that doesn’t lose suction power as you vacuum

Marilyn Wons June 20, 2009 at 2:09 pm

I wish my vacuum was Asthma and Allergy certified!

Lynette June 20, 2009 at 2:10 pm

I wish my vacuum could actually pick up the mountains of dog hair that comes off my two pugs. So much for pugs *not* shedding!

Stacey June 20, 2009 at 2:12 pm

I’d love to go bagless. And have a vac that actually sucks!

Jennifer M-I June 20, 2009 at 2:15 pm

I wish I had that turning ball. that’s the annoying thing with mine…..the clunking it around

Thrifty Living Mom June 20, 2009 at 2:16 pm

I really wish it had the ball/capacity to turn easily like that!

Abby June 20, 2009 at 2:31 pm

I wish mine was a bit easier to maneuver!

Alaina Frederick June 20, 2009 at 2:32 pm

Suction power- ours always clogs and u can go over the same spots and still isn’t clean

Brian Morin June 20, 2009 at 2:33 pm

The Dyson has just as much suction on non-carpeted floors as it does on carpets. I wish my current vacuum had that feature as it seems to just push things around on my kitchen floor instead of sucking it up.

Amber June 20, 2009 at 2:35 pm

I wish mine had the ball to make it easier to move around! The vacuum I have now is tough to maneuver.

Diane R. June 20, 2009 at 2:36 pm

I should pick just one feature I wish I had?!!! Not possible. There is the bagless feature, the ball maneuverability, the allergen removal! Which one to choose? I want them all.

angie June 20, 2009 at 2:37 pm

I wish mine had the rolling ball feature!

Margaret Smith June 20, 2009 at 2:43 pm

Being lightweight and being able to clean all floor types.
This is such an awesome looking vacuum. I would so love to have a Dyson!
Thank you so much for offering this fantastic prize!

Heather Greer June 20, 2009 at 2:53 pm

I like the round rolling ball feature. The abiliy to tur so easily is a must in my house, dogs, cats, and boys. Oh my…

Cheryl June 20, 2009 at 2:57 pm

THE TELESCOPE REACH WAND!! That rocks!

Alice June 20, 2009 at 2:58 pm

Just one??? I wish it had that maneuverability, and I also wish it had that 16ft telescoping reach. Ah, to reach my ceiling fans without a ladder!

paul haddock June 20, 2009 at 3:04 pm

The reach wand would be a great help

Maquel June 20, 2009 at 3:10 pm

No bags!! & Never loses suction? Love it.

Katja June 20, 2009 at 3:11 pm

Awesome giveaway! That’s the best looking vacuum cleaner I’ve ever seen, but I would like to have it also for the ball design – the maneuverability.

Amber June 20, 2009 at 3:12 pm

Ooo I lust over Dysons.

I wish my current vacuum had the ball. It is SO hard to reach some places with the vacuum I have and my kids like to dump their messes in those hard to reach places. With the ball thing I think my house would be much cleaner.

Elizabeth June 20, 2009 at 3:34 pm

The true test would be my Lab and Cat. I need this!!!

Thrifty Living Mom June 20, 2009 at 3:39 pm
jennifer miller June 20, 2009 at 3:43 pm

first of all my vacuum only does back and forth, so the swivel motion would be awesome…and we have pesky dog hair that is hard to vacuum.

MRS.MOMMYY June 20, 2009 at 3:56 pm

would love if it could really suck up dog hair and when its full empty itself- ok a dreamer- I vacumn and empty the huge bin several times when I vacumn

adrienne Gordon June 20, 2009 at 4:04 pm

that rotating ball is cool.

Dana June 20, 2009 at 4:12 pm

The best feature is No bags. I’m sick of changing bags in my vacuum.

Shawn C. June 20, 2009 at 4:13 pm

I wish my vacuum didn’t lose the little bit of suction it has!
mainlandmama at gmail dot com

Denise June 20, 2009 at 4:14 pm

Continuous suction would be GREAT! My vacuum doesn’t pick up well at all.

Shawn C. June 20, 2009 at 4:15 pm

I have your button.

Linda June 20, 2009 at 4:15 pm

I would love to have a Dyson, especially to see if all the priase it gets, is worthy.

Scotty McDuffy June 20, 2009 at 4:16 pm

The maneuverability of the ball would make any vacuum great.

Shawn C. June 20, 2009 at 4:16 pm
Ellen Ring June 20, 2009 at 4:25 pm

I wish I could make my vacuum more compact for storage. The ball would also be great to get around much easier.

Ashtyn June 20, 2009 at 4:33 pm

I wish our vacuum had better suction. Ours is old and needs replaced so it doesn’t work like it should. It gets clogged too much!

Cat @ 3 Kids and Us June 20, 2009 at 4:35 pm

I wish my vacuum had the roller ball, it would be so much easier to pivot and turn corners.

Gina June 20, 2009 at 4:44 pm

The roller ball for sure. Corners are a booger!

Amy H. June 20, 2009 at 4:44 pm

The roller ball feature rules for getting around my boys’ rooms- with their legos on display and bunkbeds. The compact storage fits my lifestyle.

Andrea Zell June 20, 2009 at 4:46 pm

The feature of actually sucking up dirt would be the one I wish mine had. I’ve been eyeing up a dyson for a while now.

Di June 20, 2009 at 4:49 pm

I wish my vacuum would actually work! I’ve taken in some extra animals that people have just abandoned when they moved and needless to say, my old vac isn’t cutting it.

I have furballs the size of tumbleweeds!!!

samantha jo campen June 20, 2009 at 4:53 pm

I wish our vacuum had the asthma and allergy certification for sure!

Sarah Denton June 20, 2009 at 5:08 pm

The ball mine doesn’t turn well

Jayde N June 20, 2009 at 5:11 pm

I would love the suction power, I am one of those people who can kill a vacum in about 6 months because I have to use it twice daily and I gets a true work out at our house

Mindy June 20, 2009 at 5:12 pm

This might sound strange to say, but the feature that I wish my current vacuum had is the Clear Bin so you can see all of the grit and grime you are sucking up from your floors. Not that I really wanna’ know…but really, I wanna’ know! Maybe if I saw all of that “ick” I’d vacuum more often? Also, I like how with just one click of a button you can turn off the motorized brush bar to go from cleaning carpet to hard surfaces. How convenient! Thanks for the entry! Great giveaway. :)

jeff clough June 20, 2009 at 5:13 pm

asthma and allergy certified

Linda J. June 20, 2009 at 5:13 pm

I wish my current vacuum had the quick-draw telescope reach wand.

Sara June 20, 2009 at 5:14 pm

I wish my current vac actually picked up the stuff off of the carpet. I really need a new one!

Mandy B June 20, 2009 at 5:31 pm

Hmmm. EVERYTHING.
Most of all I need the suction (and bagless would be great also!)

My current vacuum was a gift and the rotating thingy (yes I know very scientific) isn’t turning very well anymore. Sigh

I want a vacuum that isn’t disposable & Dyson is the key to that problem I think! I COVET Dyson and have always wanted one!

It’s time for a NEW Vacuum mom!

myfloatingworld June 20, 2009 at 5:37 pm

I wish mine had a HEPA filter!

Amber Roussel June 20, 2009 at 5:43 pm

I want a vaccuum with the superstar ability to pick up all my dog’s hair effectively!

Jane June 20, 2009 at 5:46 pm

I really really need a new vacuum and this looks like a really really good one. Thanks for the offer.

Amanda June 20, 2009 at 5:49 pm

Oh! I’ve been waiting for this! I wish my vacuum didn’t weigh 500 pounds! I won’t say the brand, but it rhymes with Birby. Or Sirby. Or..well you get the point. :)

Stefanie @ Mommy Musings June 20, 2009 at 5:53 pm

I wish my vacuum had the rolling ball feature.

lee June 20, 2009 at 5:58 pm

the best feature about this vacuum is that it’s not sissy looking, so maybe my husband will vacuum! he won’t touch my vintage lady kenmore!

of course, the fact it is a super duper dyson is a great feature too!

thanks for the giveaway!

Shelley G. June 20, 2009 at 6:15 pm

With three kids, household items like these are luxuries! I suffer from terrible allergies all year round and it would be a blessing to get one of these! Thank you for offering me the chance to win!

Carrie M June 20, 2009 at 6:16 pm

Suction and a hose that stays connected. Mine does neither.

April June 20, 2009 at 6:20 pm

the power for sucking up dog hair.

Jenn H June 20, 2009 at 6:22 pm

Suction. My vacuum cleaner barely picks up cherrios.

Jill June 20, 2009 at 6:38 pm

I like that it’s lightweight. With two flights of stairs to vacuum, the lighter the better.

Vanessa Mayer June 20, 2009 at 6:38 pm

More “suction action” for sure!

Jill June 20, 2009 at 6:40 pm

Have your button.

LyndiLou June 20, 2009 at 6:45 pm

Oh how I gush over the ball on the Dyson each time I see the commercial. I wish I had a vacuum that moved like that! :) You are AWESOME for having this giveaway… thank you thank you for the chance to win!!!

Lauren June 20, 2009 at 6:47 pm

I wish my current vacuum would turn into a decepticon…

No really, this vacuum doesn’t lose suction as it fills up, which is a real problem my current vacuum has.

LyndiLou June 20, 2009 at 6:51 pm

I posted your giveaway button on my blog! :)

I would love to own a Dyson! According to their ads, the suction is constant.

Betty June 20, 2009 at 7:26 pm

Wish my current vacuum was so easy to maneuver

Betty June 20, 2009 at 7:28 pm
Melissa @Mel4Him June 20, 2009 at 7:31 pm

Oh most definitely the ball. I’ve had my Hoover Canister Vacuum for at least 15 years. I hate lugging the canister around to get where I need too. LOL.

Melissa @Mel4Him June 20, 2009 at 7:35 pm

Placed the giveaway button on the sidebar of my blog. : )

Donna K June 20, 2009 at 7:36 pm

The ball for easy turning looks good.

beth shepherd June 20, 2009 at 7:38 pm

I like that it doesnt take bags – this makes it easy to clean and I dont have to ever remember which bags to buy.

Melissa @Mel4Him June 20, 2009 at 7:40 pm
Stephanie V June 20, 2009 at 7:45 pm

Root Cyclone™ technology – wish my vacuum has this. I vacuum and there is always yucky stuff still on the floor. Just doesn’t have much power. In desparate need on a new vac and this one is hte cream of the crop!
tvollowitz at aol dot com

Jamie June 20, 2009 at 7:48 pm

Hand down — suction power. My bagless vacuum that I currently use, doesn’t suck at all! I think the filter is clogged, but they don’t sell replacements. So, when I vacuum, I’m just circulating dust up into the air.

Miranda Johnson June 20, 2009 at 7:50 pm

I like the easy manuverability…b/c of all my pains. Also, we need something to reduce allergens.

randi June 20, 2009 at 8:03 pm

I wish it were better at picking up pet hair!

Rockasaur June 20, 2009 at 8:04 pm

I love the Dyson’s manueverability. We currently have a canister vacuum and it’s horrible! So big and clunky and is always getting caught when I go around corners. Very annoying! The ball design on the Dyson looks wonderful!

sandy June 20, 2009 at 8:15 pm

she who has dogs (they have to stay) and dust, and wears a bucket under her nose, needs something that will pick up and deal with things that cause the drip. and is easy to use from my wheel chair…mine does not have those capabilities!

The ball on the Dyson commercials gets me every time! Allergen certified? I would love that! And never losing suction? How awesome that would be with a three-year-old and 2 two-year-olds!

kimberly w June 20, 2009 at 8:32 pm

i wish mine had that roller ball so I could go around things easily I also wish mine would pick up all the dog hair.

Naomi June 20, 2009 at 8:42 pm

If I had my druthers, I would choose the DC25 Animal because we have six cats. But I am totally in love with the ball design, it looks so maneuverable!

chris vance June 20, 2009 at 8:48 pm

the roller ball of course scooter7018@aol.com

CMC June 20, 2009 at 8:59 pm

I love that the DC25 is “hygienic and quick to empty!”

David Leavitt June 20, 2009 at 9:06 pm

The fact that it has a rolling ball to make it easy to reach around objects

Lorie June 20, 2009 at 9:09 pm

Aww man! Giveaway of all giveaways! I love the ball. It looks SO easy to maneuver.

Thanks for the giveaway… The best feature on the Dyson DC25 that I wish my current vacuum had incorporated in it is the Dyson DC25′s “Lifetime washable HEPA filter”; I am tired of always having to shop around for a replacement filter every 6-9 months !!!

angie June 20, 2009 at 9:43 pm

My current vacuum barely works, so being easy to manuever and allergy tested are great features to me.

Kyle June 20, 2009 at 9:45 pm

bagless is the best

Angelia June 20, 2009 at 9:45 pm

I wish mine had the ball for easier turning.
