It’s time to party!

Okay, I know… I’m way late to this party. But, I’m ready to have some fun!

For those of you who don’t know me, I am Christine - aka YoungMommy – wife to my best friend and mom to seven beautiful (and very loud) children.

I began blogging when I was pregnant with Benjamin, my fifth child, almost six years ago. After blogging for quite some time I started this little blog, simply because I wanted a place to talk about my favorite products, as well as all of the fabulously generous mommy bloggers and their fun giveaways. Over the last four years it has become so much more, as I began writing more about my family life here, instead of trying to keep it all separate.

On this, my mom blog, you will find stories about life with little ones, as well as the joys (and challenges) that I face as helpmeet, mommy, teacher, and all-around go-to girl. I host giveaways and hold contests, talk about other fantastic mommies, post pictures and stories about my kiddos, and offer my two-cents on all sorts of things - from dates to diapers!

Ultimate Blog Party 2009


Hi there! Did you come over from party central? Well, I’m so glad you did! There is so much I could tell you about me and From Dates to Diapers, but I’m not going to bore you with a ton of info. Instead, I would love for you to take a look around, make yourself at home and hang out for a bit.

There is lots to see and do while you are here. You could discover a bit about me and my family, find out how you and your little one could win $10,000, read about our homeschooling adventures, or maybe just get a good chuckle by tagging along as we make our big trip to Costco.

Whatever you decide to do, I hope you have a great time and decide to come back again… We always have fun stuff going on!

Since this is a party, and we girls love to talk about our favorite celebrities, I decided to see which celebrities MyHeritage thought I look like. I have a friend who thinks I look like Cameron Diaz, and others who say I look like Julia Roberts. Hmmm…

Can’t beat the Muddy Buddies!

My absolute favorite party snack is the ever popular

Chex Muddy Buddies

Here’s how you make them…

Ingredients:

9 cups Chex cereals (Rice are the best!)
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup margarine
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1-1/2 cups powdered sugar (I use tons more!)

1. Pour cereals into large bowl; set aside.

2. In 1-quart microwave-safe bowl combine semi-sweet chocolate chips, peanut butter, and margarine. Microwave on HIGH 1 to 1-1/2 minutes or until smooth, stirring after 1 minute. Stir in vanilla.

3. Pour chocolate mixture over cereals, stirring until all pieces are evenly coated. Pour cereal mixture into a large resealable plastic bag with powdered sugar. Seal securely and shake until all pieces are well coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool.
