Plus Up YOUR Purse! {Giveaway}

by Christine - From Dates to Diapers on September 19, 2010

What does the inside of your purse look like? If it looks anything like mine did, you have it so jam-packed with everything you think you need, that you can never find what you really do need. Right?

Well, I had the opportunity to give my purse an extreme makeover, thanks to Kellogg’s, and realized that I can do without a whole lot of what I was carrying around in my bag.

Here’s a glimpse at what my purse looked like before Kellogg’s helped me “plus it up”:

Purse Makeover - Before

I was actually carrying around a diaper bag full of not only my stuff but my kids’ stuff, as well. Do you ever find that the bigger your bag, the more stuff is given to you to “hold”? Two of my kids grabbed the tubs of goodies I was carrying for them just before I took the above pictures. I kid you not. Tubs.

What else did I have in my bag? Too many snacks and sugary treats, loose papers and receipts, and tons of trash (not shown).

So, what does my purse look like now?

Purse Makeover - After

My bag is now a bit smaller, but so much more organized. I threw away the garbage, filed the receipts, and left out anything that was unnecessary. I also eliminated all of the sugary snacks, replacing them with Kellogg’s FiberPlus bars – a healthy, but tasty snack.

Snackin’ It Up On The Go

by Christine - From Dates to Diapers on June 15, 2010

Now that my pregnancy nausea has somewhat subsided, I am just always hungry. It seems as though I am always eating, whether it be fruit, crackers and cheese, or a nice big bowl of noodles.

The worst is when I’m up in the middle of the night, staring in my pantry, without a single clue as to what I want. Have you ever done that? My mom used to sing the old Cracker Jack jingle when she felt this way. “What do you want when you gotta have something… and it’s gotta be a lot?” Sometimes I find myself breaking out in song, too.

But, I’ve made it a habit of packing tons of snacks for when we’re out and about. Not for the kids, but for me! Crackers, dried fruit and nuts are my favorite, so I was happy to try the new Ritz Crackerfuls. These crunchy crackers with rich creamy cheese filling are just what I need to hit the spot when on the go.

RitzCrackerfuls

Crackerfuls come in four different varieties – Garlic Herb, Four Cheese, Classic Cheddar, and the newest Cheddar Cheese & Bacon. Not only are they individually wrapped, which makes it perfect to just throw in your bag and go, but they are actually a smart snack choice since they are made with 6 grams of whole grains and real cheese.

Head to the Ritz Crackers Facebook page now to get your $1 Off Cheddar Cheese & Bacon Crackerfuls coupon, which can be downloaded through August 31, 2010 (or until 33k coupon prints).

I received free product samples, from the One2One Network, along with compensation for this post.

Snackers Unite!

by Christine - From Dates to Diapers on January 25, 2009

For those of you who know me, you know that I am a snacker. In fact, my good friends, when they come to visit, head straight for my pantry and know they can help themselves to whatever they can fine – which is most typically just about anything!

Salty snacks, sweets, and dried fruit can be found just about any time you look. And a birthday party at the Young’s house is just not complete without a few strategically placed bowls of Muddy Buddies!

Well, I am excited about the prospect of adding Chex Mix Bars to my pantry shelf. These new snacks combine crunchy Chex pieces, pretzels and peanuts with chewy and indulgent ingredients like caramel and chocolate – Sounds like the perfect combination of sweet and salty, doesn’t it? And if that´s not enough, they have less than 150 calories per bar and provide at least 8 of the 48 grams of the daily recommended whole grain!
