ImagiPLAY

by Christine - From Dates to Diapers on September 24, 2008

My kiddos, all 6 of them, have played with the creatures of the Rainforest in this PuzzlePlay set from ImagiPLAY. The playset and puzzle, in one, challenges both sides of their brain as they play and then piece the puzzle together.

Made from rubberwood, an earth friendly hardwood, this versatile 18pc plaything has sparked the older kiddos’ curiosity about these wondrous animals… They have inquired about each of the animals, creating many teachable moments!

Thanks, Parent Reviewers, for introducing my kiddos to ImagiPLAY!

Feel Their Power!

by Christine - From Dates to Diapers on August 18, 2008

We found a fun new game!

Jishaku, Japanese for magnet, uses finely polished hematite magnets for playing pieces. Like all magnets, the magnets in Jishaku have North and South poles, so as you carefully place your magnet in a hole you can feel the tug of magnets all around the board.

There are several variations of the game, but the favorite around here is I’m Out. While alternating turns, the kiddos place their magnets onto the game base, but the hard part is doing it without letting any magnets connect. They must pick up all of the magnets that connect, but the one who places all of the magnets on the board successfully wins!

Watch the kiddos play (kind of)…

Thanks, Parent Reviewers, for introducing us to Jishaku!

I Spy

by Christine - From Dates to Diapers on August 2, 2008

Our kiddos love to play games, especially when I play with them. Thanks to Parent Reviewers we have found a game that we all enjoy… I SPY from Briarpatch.

Photobucket
With 8 different ways to play, I SPY is a fun game for the big kids and little ones alike. The littlest ones can play for hours, matching the cards and finding special items throughout the pictures, while the older ones and I enjoy solving the riddles by finding the clues hidden in each card. Just the other day, while Noah was napping, I played with all five kiddos until all the riddles were solved… Fun!

Briarpatch has been making fun games and puzzles, for children of all ages, since 1992, and have received over 275 awards for product excellence. Some of the perennial best sellers and new favorites from the Briarpatch game collection include: I SPY Memory, I SPY Word Scramble, Thomas & Friends and Fancy Nancy.

If you and your kiddos enjoy playing thought-provoking games, you will certainly want to check out what Briarpatch has to offer.

EZ School Supplies

by Christine - From Dates to Diapers on July 21, 2008

EzSchoolSupplies.com

I don’t know about you, but I dread back to school shopping with all of the little ones, especially when shopping for school supplies. Who knows when someone will grab an eraser and start chewing on it, or pick up a pencil sharpener and proceed to sharpen my lipliner and eyeliner pencils! After all that’s what erasers and sharpeners are for, right?

I was so excited to find out about a new service that takes the hassle out of shopping for school supplies. EZSchoolSupplies.com provides quality, affordable brand name school supplies delivered right to your door. They offer customized EZPACKS based upon each teacher’s specific supply list or you can customize your own kit, which is, of course, what I would do.

Our Mission is to make a positive difference worldwide in the lives of students by providing them with the tools and instruments required for developing their personal knowledge, skills and competence to meet tomorrow’s challenges.

It’s almost time for the kiddos to get back to school… You better start getting their supplies together!

Huddy Buddy

June 21, 2008

Tweet Soon after her son, Huddy, was born Robyn realized that she didn’t want to dress him like every other kid on the playground. Huddy Buddy, the company, was then born out of a desire to offer a hip line of casual apparel. Huddy’s daddy designed all of the tees, and soon after Huddy’s buddy [...]
