Great Gift Ideas for the Little Ones (and mommy, too!)

by Christine - From Dates to Diapers on August 8, 2008

Baby Gizmo Buying Guide is the first comprehensive baby product reference book designed to go to the store with you. Instead of what to buy, Heather Maclean and Hollie Schultz will teach you how to buy more than 400 different types of baby products. Featuring definitions, product history, and key features, this is a real-life, everything-you-need-to-know resource. It includes advice on whether you really need a product, when to buy it, and how long your baby will use it. The Baby Gizmo Buying Guide is perfect for first-time moms and can be purchased online at amazon. The great writing and fun “been there, really do understand what you are going through” tone will make this guide her favorite book!

Among the many things I teach my children, manners is of extreme importance. We think that it is very important for kids to say thank you (doesn’t everyone?). But we’re not the best at keeping up, but we have tried hard to have our older kiddos write thank you cards, or even quick hellos. Babycakes Art has helped us make it that much easier with their adorable Personalized note card/thank you notes Set of 12 with matching stickers- Robin’s Egg Blue with Flowers.

Babycakes Art has many other wonderful items, from framed birth announcements, to invitations. I’ll be ordering some chic thank you notes for Sara to use after her Baby Shower!

Nursing moms everywhere know how hard it is to nurse in public. With the Peekaboobaby nursing cover, you no longer have to worry! Peekaboobaby offers adorable and stylish nursing covers. Just grab your Peekaboobaby, slide it over your head, and it’s mealtime … easy as that! Peekaboobaby also has matching burp clothes, and the set makes a great gift for any new mom.

I am glad to have found Ritzy Bitzy… No more leaky bottles or milk dripping down baby’s chin. Baby Bottle Bibs™ were created to absorb dribble and excess milk or formula that trickles out of babies’ mouths while they are feeding from a baby bottle. They are made with ultra soft and highly absorbent plush microfiber which provides the ultimate solution for messy bottle feedings. The absorbent collar also conveniently soaks up annoying bottle leaks! These make wonderful baby shower gifts. You can orderthe Ritzy Bitzy in either blue or pink.

Now this next item is truly the perfect baby shower or new baby gift… Get that mom-to-be an adorable Baby Bunch. Each bunch contains a full set of clothing, ranging from baby bibs, hats, socks and mitts to onesies, sleep suits and t-shirts. Perfect for newborns, the Baby Bunch is safe for hospital delivery where ordinary flowers may not be permitted, and is a useful alternative to flowers for a home visit. I gave my cousin’s wife a Baby Bunch for new baby Taylor and it was the hit of the shower!

Do you know a little one who needs to stay warm this fall? A cute hat for her would be a good idea, but a hat from Zooni, just perfect. These adorable hats are handmade with love, quality and care, and each Zooni hat is a blend of natural cotton and micro polyester. Each lined hat offers a comfy, stretchy, and snug fit to keep your little ones toasty warm. Zooni hats celebrate childhood and are specially designed to be fun and stylish for every day and every occasion. Choose from a variety of colorful themes. Now if only they came in in sizes big enough for my older kiddos!

Wild Dill products are organic, fair trade, sweatshop-free, natural and/or recycled. These products help you be kind to the earth while dressing little ones in style! They also have a variety of fun and educational toys that will keep your kiddos happy for hours.
SAVE 15%! Sign up for the Wild Dill newsletter and receive a discount code in your e-mail box for 15% off of your next order. Get the latest Wild Dill news and save! You can find many great clothing items for back to school, plus right now there is a great sale going on.
Of course my kids want the Imagination Box Cottage. If your kiddos love to all play together, like mine do, why not let them color the house and then let their imaginations run wild?

Lull your little one to sleep with the Nickelodeon Dora Lullabies CD! The CD includes songs written by popular artists such as Burt Bacharach, Carole King, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, James Taylor, Billy Preston, and Dan Fogelberg. You can purchase it online HERE

My small kiddos are big fans of the Backyardigans. They love the new Backyardigans High Flying Adventure DVD. As the talented quintet break into song and dance, with well-crafted original music and fanciful choreography, my kiddos join in the fun for an interactive experience that fosters creative thinking and physical movement. Put on those aviation goggles and hold on tight for HIGH FLYING ADVENTURES which takes the takes the gang soaring into the wild blue yonder and beyond!

Birthday Gifts Any Girl Would Love

by Christine - From Dates to Diapers on July 21, 2008

Julia received a lot of lovely gifts for her birthday yesterday. Among them were purses, lipstick and nail polish. She was given pretty new dresses, and a cute and sassy hat. She now even has a bag full of goodies to add to her craft bin. She made big yesterday!

Some of the items that I was able to gift her with this year included an adorable print, from PicktailsInk.com, to hang on her wall, and a beautiful Sara Rose tutu. She loves both of them, so I thought I would tell you about these fun gifts I gave her, just in case you would like to find a unique gift for a special little lady!

Double Tulle Tutu with Ribbon Waist and Dangling Ribbons Size Infant 6-12 MoSara Rose Tutus, named after the owners daughter, has some of the most beautiful and affordable hand-tied tutus on the net. Each tutu is custom made to your daughters exact preferences and size. You can see some of these adorable tutus by visiting sararosetutus.com or the Sara Rose etsy shop.

Growing up as the youngest of five children on Long Island, Patricia has many happy memories of drawing at the kitchen table and creating refrigerator art. She boldly proclaimed to her parents and siblings she was going to be an artist when she grew up. Pigtails Ink is where she now sells her adorable art. Art for girls, art for boys and art for grown-ups – She has it all! And the best part is that she personalizes each piece with your child’s name and hair color! How fun is that?

Patricia is offering all of my readers a 10% discount on any purchase of $25.00 or more at Pigtails Ink. Just enter DTD at checkout. (Offer expires August 1st & does not apply to custom art or custom stationery orders.) Patricia’s artwork would make a perfect gift!
