Our National Walmart Ad for Johnson & Johnson #SmartSavings

by Christine - From Dates to Diapers on May 3, 2012

A couple of weeks ago my youngest boys and I got to participate in something very exciting… We had a photography crew, a hair and makeup artist, and a team from both Johnson & Johnson and Walmart take over my master bathroom, transforming it into a studio, for almost a full day.

You may be wondering why we agreed to this invasion. Well, we were asked to make an appearance in an National ad booklet for Walmart, featuring our favorite Johnson & Johnson baby care and oral care products. Of course I was more than eager due to the simple fact that Johnson’s Baby products were included!

Here’s the exact shot chosen for the Johnson’s Baby products ::

Timmy was touted as being an awfully adorable model! I agree.

As part of my assignment as a “model” I was to go to my local Walmart (not hard being that I’m a Walmart Mom) and purchase the products that were featured with us in our part of the ad. So, I set out to find the Johnson’s Baby Lotion, Johnson’s Head to Toe Baby Wash, Listerine, and Reach toothbrushes for my older kiddos.

I discovered that the Johnson’s Baby products were in the Personal Care section of Walmart, as well as the Baby section. This was something I hadn’t paid much attention to before and was kind of puzzled by. I guess it makes sense though…

Not only have my babies always bathed in these fabulous products, but my older kiddos use them and I’ve even been caught using them. The Bedtime Bubble Bath & Wash is one of my favorites! The Baby Lotion has been a part of our nightly bedtime routine for years.

Not too long ago I wrote about our trip to the dentist and our commitment to good dental hygiene. Listerine and Reach toothbrushes are helping us build stronger and healthier teeth.

Anyhow, with the coupons, all of the items I purchased were quite a steal!

We took lots of pictures of the whole shopping experience and share them on our Google+ page. The ad will be mailed this week, so keep an eye out for it. However, if you do not receive the ad booklet in your mailbox this week, you can print some great coupons to save on Listerine, Johnson’s Baby Lotion, and Desitin products.

Johnson’s. Natural(ly).

by Christine - From Dates to Diapers on March 10, 2012

You probably know by now that we’re big fans of Johnson’s Baby products, but have you heard of Johnson’s Natural line? They’ve recently won the 2012 Better Homes and Gardens Best New Product Award and are dedicated to deliver only specially designed baby products that are safe, gentle and mild..

Well, we’ve been using Johnson’s Natural Baby Shampoo, Baby Lotion, and Head to Toe Foaming Baby Wash for a while now. Ben and Timmy both have pretty sensitive skin and we try to stay away from any products that could irritate their skin. We’re hooked!

It’s easy to take baby steps to living a more natural lifestyle when products like those in the Johnson’s Natural line exist. Knowing these products exist make my job as mom just a bit easier.

Now, we’re not an uber natural family by any means. But, when a trusted brand goes above and beyond to create a formula that contains no dyes, very little chemicals, and no harmful ingredients, we can’t help but adopt even just a small change towards living a natural lifestyle.

You can read more about the Johnson’s Natural products and ingredients, receive coupons and even view a series of videos that offer tips on how to affordably incorporate natural living into everyday family life.

I’d love to know how you are trying to take steps to live more naturally. What are you and your family doing to make this change?

I wrote this review while participating in a campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Johnson’s Natural and received a product sample to facilitate my review, and a promotional item to thank me for participating.

Safe Kids: Sports Injury Prevention

by Christine - From Dates to Diapers on April 21, 2011

Something every mom hopes to be able to do is to keep our kids safe. We do everything we can to protect them from harm. But, most often their safety is not in our hands, especially when they begin playing sports, and we must let them spread their wings. First, however, we must train them to be aware of what causes injuries and arm them against danger.

Safe Kids is an organization aimed at preventing injuries to children. Through awareness, they hope to reduce sports injuries to children while encouraging kids to stay in the game.

According to the Safe Kids Sports Safety Guide there are four aspects of sports safety:

  • Preparation: Pre-participation Exams
  • Hydration -
  • Concussion Awareness
  • Acute and Overuse Injury Prevention

You can read more at safekids.org. Better yet, why don’t you join me in attending an educational webcast about sports injury prevention, hosted by Safe Kids on May 2 at 12 pm EST. This webcast will stream live on the Safe Kids Facebook Page and will be led by:

  • Dr. Angela Mickalide, CHES, Director of Research and Programs, Safe Kids Worldwide
  • Dr. Douglas Casa, Director of Athletic Training Education, University of Connecticut
  • Dr. Gerard Gioia, Chief, Division of Pediatric Neuropsychology and Safe Concussion Outcome, Recovery & Education (SCORE) Program at Children’s National Medical Center
  • Steve Young, former NFL Star Quarterback and On-air Talent ESPN

Will you tune in with me?

Johnson & Johnson, in partnership with the Safe Kids organization, asked me promote Safe Kids Week and the sports injury prevention webcast and I was compensated for my time. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
