I have been a Disney fan for as long as I can remember. I’ve played in Disneyland a number of times, I’ve visited DisneyWorld a few, and I’ve even explored Disney’s Aulani on Oahu. But. This week will be a first for me. I AM GOING ON A DISNEY CRUISE!!
One of my bestest friends has invited me along with her on the Disney Fantasy media cruise. I wasn’t invited as media this time, so technically I’m going as Janice’s guest – which is kind of odd for me, to be honest – but I AM GOING ON A DISNEY CRUISE!!
Can you tell I’m a little excited?
I’m sitting at the airport in Phoenix waiting for my flight to Orlando, and I can.not contain my excitement. I have this urge to turn to the person next to me and tell them why I’m on this flight with them…
Don’t worry. I won’t.
Stay tuned as I bring you photos, video, and my thoughts on the magic and wonder of the Disney Fantasy.

(For the record, this is not a “free” trip for me. I paid for my airfare to get to Orlando, as well as the taxes and gratuities for the cruise.)

From Walt Disney Pictures and director Tim Burton comes the epic fantasy adventure Alice In Wonderland, a magical and imaginative twist on some of the most beloved stories of all time. We are very excited that Alice In Wonderland is now playing on the big screen in Disney Digital 3D and IMAX 3D! And, since it’s rated PG, I’m happy to say that most of my kids will be able to enjoy it with us!

If you don’t yet know much about the film, it features Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter and Mia Wasikowska as 19-year-old Alice, who returns to the whimsical world she first encountered as a young girl. The all-star cast also includes Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Matt Lucas and Crispin Glover, along with the voice talents of Michael Sheen, Stephen Fry, and Alan Rickman.
Check out the Alice in Wonderland trailer, the Alice in Wonderland fan page, and/or follow on twitter for the latest news.

I am still recovering from a magical time in sunny freezing-cold Florida at the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration, aka #DisneySMMoms… Home with my kiddos has never been so sweet!
Being one of the small percentage of moms attending the conference sans family (not by choice, mind you… I wish we could have afforded for all eight of us to spend a week at Disney World together), I was able to enjoy some fun girl-time with some of my fellow solo mom friends – Tara, Sue, Audrey, and so many more.
Plenty can be said about this fabulous conference/celebration, and I will get to all of that, but for now I hope you’ll enjoy a glimpse into my play time.

I always regret not taking more pictures while with my friends at events like this… For more, check out the Disney Social Media Moms Flickr stream, a picture of two of my closest friends and me, and one of some lucky moms with Chris Brogan. Can you see Alyssa and Colin peeking from behind in that last one? Miss you already, girls!

Don’t miss Part One, Part Two, Part Three, Part Four or Part Five!
If you are thinking about going to Walt Disney World, I’d recommend five to seven days so you can take in all four parks, the water park and maybe even some golf. Enjoy the themed hotels with the super white sandy beaches and get the whole experience to make it worth your money. But I would recommend not trekking across the country if you’re just looking to ride the major attractions you can find at Disneyland and California Adventure.
I’d say the same thing to the East Coasters – both coasts have most of the same major rides. I’ve outlined some of the different things found at Disney World, but for those who haven’t been to Disney’s California theme parks, the only thing you’re missing is a few rides from California Adventure – mainly the California Santa Cruz Boardwalk and Bug’s Life sections – but, again, I don’t think it’s worth the 5 1/2 hour plane trip for those.
But, if you do come to California and you’ve already been to Disney World, be sure to make it worth your while by also seeing Universal Studios, Knott’s Berry Farm, Legoland or the San Diego Zoo – which truly is the best zoo I’ve ever visited.
And, you could always visit us!
