If you are here at BlogHer and happen to see me, don’t stop me… walk with me!
Here’s why ::
I’m on a mission. A mission to clock more steps than some of my fellow mom bloggers. Why? Well, if I do, in fact, take more steps than the others, I get to decide which charity should be given $5,000! Cool, huh?
Let me tell you a bit about my competition ::
*Briana blogs at BargainBriana.com, where she can teach you to save money while you shop.
*Shannon of PhatMommy.com, is a fellow homeschooling mama.
*Liz is blogger extraordinaire at ThisFullHouse.com.
*Sweet Tanya is the author of MommyGoggles.com, and is also a fab photographer.
*And, Elizabeth of Busymom.net is a mom of three. I actually feel like it’s a bit unfair that I’m competing against her, with her knee injury and all. Well, maybe not so much.
Now, these ladies are all amazing, but not one of them runs after six kiddos all day long, so they really don’t know who they’re up against!
I bet you are wondering how we are going to keep track of our steps, huh?
Here’s how ::
We were each given an Omron pocket pedometer; the HJ-720ITC, to be exact. From 12am TODAY thru 11:59pm on Saturday, our wonderful little gadgets will be keeping track of every. single. step. You can bet that I’m even grabbing it if I need to make a trip to the ladies room tonight… every. single. step. counts!
We will know, on Sunday, who clocked the most steps and their favorite charity will be given $5,000!! I’ll be sure to share the news!
For now, wish me luck… I have a feeling my feet will be sore come Saturday night!
In exchange for accepting this challenge, Omron sponsored (in part) my trip to BlogHer.

Blogher, the largest conference for women who blog, is just around the corner. While most attendees have already packed, or at least blogged about stressing out over what they are going to wear, I have just now had time to think about all of this. Okay, well, that’s not entirely true since I have been entering into the calendar on my iPhone, each session, dinner or cocktail party that I would like to attend, as I am invited to something I don’t want to miss. Oh, I’ve been shopping some, too, but I digress…
I have some amazing sponsors, this year, for the ultimate BlogHer experience. As one of the ElevenMoms, Walmart has been most influential in getting me, and most of my fellow ElevenMoms, to Chicago. Disney has provided me with funds to contribute to my five days away from home, I’m hoping that I can find some Norma Kamali clothing for travel, and the folks at P&G – on behalf of Tide – have arranged all of my travel to and from the airport in both cities. I even received a fab rolling bag from Campbell’s!
In addition to my amazing above-mentioned sponsors, I have taken the Omron Overstep Your Bounds Challenge. In exchange for a BlogHer sponsorship, I will be competing against five other fabulous & prominent bloggers for the chance to win $5,000 for my favorite charity, from Omron! More on that later.
All of this has already been promised to me for BlogHer, but let’s talk swag for YOU. BlogHer has always been known as the place to receive pretty amazing swag, but this year will take the cake! Make sure you pack an extra suitcase, and budget in that extra luggage fee. From e.l.f. makeup to Crocs shoes, there will be something for everyone. Oh, and don’t forget about all of the swag you can win… Laptops, carseats, and more!
Last year the swag recycle room was full of rubber key-chains and flyers, but this year I’m thinking there will be less of all that. That is, if the sponsors took note!
BlogHer has a reputation for hosting women who love shoes, and can prove it. This year, it’s being kicked up a notch. With celeb fashion authorities on site, everyone is bound to look their best from head to toe. At least that’s the goal, right? Stay tuned for more on BlogHer fashion, but in the meantime check out some tips from Tim Gunn that might help “guide your style” as you decide what to pack.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, just remember we all are. It might help to check out the fab, but unofficial, BlogHer’09 planner that the sponsors of BowlHer put together. You can print it out and start planning your own BlogHer fun, just be sure you use a pencil!
Just don’t forget about all the parties!

Boy, has it been a rough few days! Ray and I both ended up getting sick (as did Ethan-the last of the kiddos), we had issues with what to do with the baby (last minute), and we didn’t make it to the city in time for most anything on Thursday…
Ah well, we’re here! AT BLOGHER!! And, although I’m exhausted, I’m having a great time.
Love to my kiddos, hugs to my wonderful family and friends for watching over them, and thank you to all of the fab party-goers and sponsors of my Ice Cream Cyber Social — I didn’t forget about the party. There are still some fabulous prizes to win, so keep an eye out!

Yesterday I received an email from Jennifer James, the founder of Mom Bloggers Club, that made me jump and squeal for joy. My jumping and squealing caused my boys to stop dead in their tracks and stare. After all, their mommy doesn’t often jump and squeal, just out of the blue. I must have looked and sounded ridiculous!
“What happened, Mom?” Zach asked, looking very concerned.
“I just won some money… woohoo!”
“How much?” A very wide-eyed Ethan asked.
“$250, baby!”
“Wow, we’ve never had $250 before.”
Well, we didn’t have it for long. Ray booked our hotel for BlogHer last night… It was just enough to pay for two nights in a fantastic boutique hotel, just a block away from the conference!
Now, where can I find some money to win for a new outfit and a pair of cute shoes?
