Campbell’s – Mmm. Mmm. Good.

by Christine - From Dates to Diapers on February 2, 2009

After spending most of Wednesday in airports and airplanes, I was greeted by a huge basket of Campbell goodies in my room at the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Philadelphia. Not having done my homework before the trip, there were some items in the basket that surprised me. Did you know that Goldfish crackers are a part of the Campbell’s family? To be honest, there are many products that I was surprised to discover are part of the brand.

Several familiar faces, as well as a couple of lovely PR folks were waiting in the lobby, early Thursday morning, as I hurried down – late, as usual. We made our way the short distance from Philly to Camden, and received a very warm welcome at Campbell’s world headquarters in New Jersey. The folks at Campbell’s desire to create a community where we can always find inspiration, information, and solutions for simple nourishing meals, and it was very evident.

“Nourishing people’s lives everywhere, every day” is the mission of Campbell’s. And, boy are they doing everything they can to deliver on that promise. They are hearing what we – as moms – need and want, and are constantly improving their products to fit the bill. From their MSG-free soups to their new low-sodium and low-calorie products, changes are continually being made in the right direction.

There was much dialogue, between the staff and us moms, about our struggles and concerns regarding feeding our families. They understand that making sure our families eat a well-balanced meal is important, and are truly striving to help us with ease and convenience.

One of my favorite parts of the day involved juice – lots and lots of juice! Two brand new V8 V-Fusion juice blends are now being shipped to stores everywhere, and we got the inside scoop. We were able to sample all of the now 6 fantastic juice blends, as well as make some scrumptious smoothies. Mmmm!

Be sure to stay tuned as I share more about the ongoing relationship that Campbell’s wants to have with us moms!

Sounds like a great opportunity to see the life behind Campbell. I really enjoyed the Campbell’s test kitchen experience back in the last fall in Bentonville and I love how they are embracing and reaching out to influential moms online like you.

Christine I’m so excited you got to visit Campbell’s and learn more about such an incredible company. It’s also exciting to see how Campbell’s is reaching out to real life Moms! Growing up in Philly (and living here!) I always feel a connection to the company – and of course with little kids all the Pepperidge Farm products are just about staples in our household – aka non stop snacking on Goldfish! Both my kids and I are also addicted to their Raisin Bread. We go through 3 loaves a week I’m not kidding. I’m so excited you extended your stay to see more of Philly’s history and to include Mike and I in your visit. Thanks!
