Having five brothers, Julia gets to decide almost hourly whether to be a tomboy or a little princess… She loves all thing girly, but can run with the big boys! Most of the time she is a perfect mix of the two, and exerts her energy all the while maintaining her girly qualities. In fact, just this afternoon she started karate kicking her big brothers while wearing her princess high heels! Fun stuff!
Julia recently received Barbie’s newest movie, Barbie and the Diamond Castle, and really enjoys it. Actually, even the boys enjoyed watching it! Barbie and the Diamond Castle tells the story of best friends Alexa and Liana, who lose everything during a storm. Their friendship and love of music holds them together. After a chance meeting with an old woman, they meet Melody, a girl locked inside an enchanted mirror. Melody holds the secret key to the Diamond Castle… Through rough times, Alexa and Liana find out both the importance of friendship and believing in oneself.
The vibrant animation and musical soundtrack provides endless entertainment. The music has all of my little ones dancing, while Julia enjoys singing along.
Julia also got to meet Barbie today! Barbie was collecting “previously loved” Barbie dolls as part of their “Give Back with Barbie Cares” campaign at Walmart… er, I mean in front of the Diamond Castle.
So star-struck was Julia that she barely said a word while we were there. No joke! Let me tell you, she definitely made up for it on the way home. She couldn’t stop talking about how neat it was to meet Barbie, and how her hair was just like Barbie’s, and how her eyes were even blue…

Julia is too cute. Kenzie would have loved to meet Barbie but we were out of town today. She talks about the movie all the time and next week we’ve got a local momblogger hosting a “diamond castle” party that we’ve been invited to attend. We can’t wait to see the flick again with other little girls! Only wish CA were closer to PA so we could have a little girls and moms night out together too! xo col
What fun! So glad you posted this. My three year old son is SO not into Barbie so I don’t get to do these girly events often, if at all.
Now I get to live vicariously through you!
She is SO purty:)…your daughter I mean, well, and Barbie too;)
I have ALL boys so no chance of taking them to see her!
How cute!!! that’s awesome that you gals got to go!!!
She looks so cute next to Barbie. Since I have all boys my oldest wasn’t into the whole “barbie thing”, he was like “why is she dressed up for Halloween? Is she getting candy? I want candy!” LOL. So me and the little one got our photo with Barbie. Very cool stuff.

She is adorable. I totally walked the line between tomboy and princess when I was little. Good to have a tough and soft side, a great benefit to having brothers
