- This was week two back at school. We’re still doing a lot of review, to get up to speed, but the kiddos are eager to learn, so I know we’ll be fine. The most challenging is keeping the littlest ones happily occupied while I teach the older ones. My school area (aka the dining room) finally feels like a more inviting place in which to learn. A big thanks to my wonderful friend, Mindy, who provided me with some great posters and charts.
- My fourth nephew was born on Tuesday! I was so honored to be present at his birth and aid my sister in welcoming her brand new baby boy into this world. He’s beautiful and healthy, and both Baby Isaac and Mommy are doing well. I can’t wait to see him and hold him again. I love babies!
- Josh started “going to school” at his Aunt Lisa’s house this week. The plan is to have him do some school work with Cousin Faith twice a week. I can’t tell who is more excited, me or Josh! He actually does a lot of school work with the older kiddos (like Bible lessons, history, and science experiments), but I was so worried about him not getting enough individualized attention as he learns the sounds of each letter. This has not only been great for him, but I think it will present the perfect opportunity for me to work with the older kiddos, on some of the more intense subjects, while my two littlest guys were napping.
- We met up with some friends on Friday for some fun in the sun. I fear this may have been one of the last times we head to the pool, until next year. All of my kiddos love the water and had a blast. Spending a day in the sun can sure be draining, though…
- I am so happy that Ray’s brother and his family live so close now. It’s a joy to be able to spend an evening with Chuck and Lisa and their kiddos, just to visit and hang out!
- Today was quite refreshing after such a long week… We hung out with friends this afternoon. But, tonight Ray and I were able to escape for a while. We even got to spend some quality time cuddling up to watch a good movie. Date nights are super important when you have lots of kiddos… It was refreshing to connect with my husband again, after way too long.
