I’d like to apologize, in advance, for the tone of this post. I usually am good about keeping this a no whining zone and I promise not to make this a regular occurrence, but I need to vent while my kids are eating lunch.
I’m exhausted.

We discovered yesterday that Noah’s cold has produced ear infections in both ears. I understand that he’s in pain, but he has insisted on sitting with me on me every second of the day for the last four days, which is getting old. As I type this, Noah is flopping on the floor at my feet begging for KoolAid to replace his beloved carrot juice!
Because Noah has been sick, I have not had a solid night sleep in almost a full week. Not to mention that we were not home the entire week before. All this to say, I think it’s been a good two weeks since I had a decent night’s sleep. Is it too much to ask for just 2 hours of uninterrupted sleep, in my own bed? I guess so.
Last night was so crazy, in fact, that Noah managed to scratch my eyeball during a very urgent need to find my face. I now cringe every time I blink and my eye will not stop watering. Did you know that the average person blinks 25 times every sixty seconds?
On top of being exhausted from lack of sleep, I’m pregnant! Honestly, I think it is just now sinking in that I AM PREGNANT! Again. Another baby doesn’t scare me. Even the possibility of two new babies doesn’t scare me. I love being pregnant. I really, really do. BUT, I do not like feeling tired and nauseous all day long. The idea of being sick for the next 9 months is what scares me. I’m hoping it’ll pass in the next couple of weeks.
Which reminds me – My OB won’t see me until next month. Apparently, despite the fact that my “period” in February wasn’t more than a day or two of mild spotting, they won’t begin counting gestation until then. Which puts me at an unusually large 6 weeks. {{sigh}}
Alright, he’s gonna make me crazy! Please tell me you would give Noah KoolAid if you were me…

I’d SO give him KoolAid. I’ve done worse than that many times! And Congratulations! I hope the next nine months aren’t filled with too much exhaustion and nausea!
Pregnancy make all of us very tired and you have to deal with a sick kiddos on top of that!!!! I feel your pain!!!
Hope that you could get some rest soon. And that you won’t be sick for the rest of your pregnancy!
So when did the tiredness stated (that could help you estimate how far along you are) I know for me puking about 1 weeks after conception id pretty normal (for me that is) but no fun cause I do it until babies are born!!!!

Oh I would give Noah the Kool Aid and whatever else I could do to get a moment of peace!
Sorry it’s been a tough couple of weeks. I pray that this season will go quickly for you!
Yup, would totally give him Kool-aid now! Here’s hoping that you got some drugs to help the infection and he will be feeling much better quickly?
Also, that you can get some sleep, I can’t even imagine!
Give him the Koolaid! Maybe Dad can take over for a couple of hours tomorrow so you can get some uninterrupted sleep. That’s the only way I survive with a newborn.
congratulations on the exciting news! i hope everyone in the house feels better soon so you can catch up on your sleep

I’d fill up a toy water gun with kool-aid and shoot it into his mouth… refreshing for him, and de-stressing for you.
then again I don’t have kids so I may be a little off here…

Oh, yes, weary mama, I’d more than happily give him Koolaid for the 2 seconds of quiet I’d get as he drank it, LOL!!
Congrats on your news!! We JUST found out we are expecting again & I can’t say it has actually sank in yet. I’m estimating 5 weeks and haven’t even called the OB yet. I was extremely sick with our first and spent most of the first 4 – 5 months horizontal, so I am right there with you praying for a sick free pregnancy. (So fa so good here…. Here’s praying and hoping your yuck days pass quickly and isn’t one more thing you have to deal with, lol).

Personally, I can’t even imagine being pregnant again with a 3rd, much less a 7th!!! You AMAZE me.
And are you kidding me? If I were in your situation, I’d let him sit down and eat a bowl of sugar if he wanted to. Oh my girl… just do whatever you’ve got to do.
I hope you get some quality sleep soon.

If you hadn’t mentioned the pregnancy thing I’d think you were describing my life. We are trying to potty train. I can not beging to describe how mentallly and emotionally tired I am. On top of it, he’s had a day of allergy attacks. Sleepless nights, constant clinging, and pee accidents…
girl, I hope you get some sleep!

I don’t give my kids Koolaid but that just because I’m too lazy to make it! lol

I have been going through this for a week now with my youngest. It is hard because you know they are feeling horrible and want to take it away and do everything to help, but it is so draining. I couldn’t imagine being pregnant at the same time. I hope he gets relief soon as well as your morning sickness !

Congrats on your wonderful news; it is nice to hear someone is excited for number 3!
I would soooooo give him KoolAid, maybe even the whole pitcher-one day of “mommy sanity” in the form of a sugary beverage will not ruin a lifetime of carrot juice!
Hope you all are feeling better soon-

Congrats! I can’t believe you are pregnant with #7! You are like Kate Gosselin minus one! You are a warrior! God Bless You!
Just give him some Kool-aid……..
Well, now I feel completely dumb! I am a new reader and did not realize you had SIX children until I saw the above comment from Kellee! Sorry about that, but still congrats to you.

Congratulations on your pregnancy. That is very exciting news, and I am awed about how you can maintain this blog, six kids and a pregnancy. When I was pregnant with No. 2, I was so tired I could barely function. Congratulations again, and all of my best to you.
Guess I’m the only person that wouldn’t give him koolaide. Red dye for an already cranky child??? Uh-UH. I would give him lemonaide or something with very little food coloring instead.
Congrats on the baby… I had that 9-month sick feeling with pregnancy. Here’s hoping you feel better this time around.
So sorry your little guy is sick We too have been battling sickness and colds here too. Sometimes you just have to give in a little and some battles are not worth fighting. I don’t think Kool-aid is all that bad just one time. Atleast he’ll feel better after he gets it. and you won’t have to hear the screaming either.
I haven’t had a decent night sleep in 2 yrs. I FEEL your pain!
HOPE you can get into the OB and get confirmation and a U/S.
Ear infections are so tough with kiddos–and boy do they make for long nights. I hope you are surprised with a few minutes to get a nap today! Hang in there.
Congratulations on your baby news! You are one super mama!
