We just recently celebrated another birthday here in the Young family. Josh turned seven. SEVEN! I can’t believe how fast time flies by!
Josh is a big fan of chocolate, so I set out to find a new-to-us dessert that was big on the scrumptious sweet stuff just for him. I didn’t have to search long before I found the perfect recipe for a dessert using Sara Lee® pound cake.
I tweaked it just right and tempt you with the yummy result:
You know you’d like to try it!
CHOCOLATE LAYERED POUND CAKE DESSERT
3 cups cold milk
2 small instant chocolate pudding mix pkgs
8 ounce thawed whipped topping
1 cup chocolate syrup
1 10.75 oz Sara Lee® Pound Cake, cut into 1/2″ cubes
1 cup mini white chocolate chips
Pour milk into a large bowl. Add pudding. Beat with a wire whisk for 2 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes. Gently stir in whipped topping.
Arrange half of the cake cubes in a large serving bowl. Top with half of the pudding mix, drizzle with half of the chocolate syrup and add half cup of chocolate chips; layer a second time with remaining ingredients.
Chill for 3-4 hours before serving.

I would get some pound cake. As a kid we would always the cake for strawberry shortcake and the strawberries are in season right now!

Who can resist Sara Lee? Not me. I like their French Cheesecake, their German Chocolate Layer Cake, and their All Butter Pound Cake. The list continues but those are my top three for tastebud treats. I like them because without any preparation on my part I can have delicious desserts.
I’d choose the cheesecake.
Oh, my! The strawberries are almost ripe on our farm so we would pair the All Butter Pound Cake with some fresh whipped cream and freshly picked strawberries. I know my kids would be more than willing to help me pick the warm and juicey berries for our dessert.
I’m going to get their Chocolate Traditional Creme Pie since I have a huge chocoholic!
Nobody doesn’t like Sara Lee! Great desserts and a quick way to serve family and friends without the hard work of baking!

My husband’s favorite pie is Sara Lee’s Cheery pie. Whenever there’s a good sale, I buy alot of Sara Lee desserts!
I also have a little boy who is 7. Since he doesn’t really like chocolate that much, I would definitely use the coupons on some pound cake. With some strawberries on top and a dab of whipping cream…delicious! I also really like the strawberry cheesecake bites
